so yea judging purely on youtube video's and feedback the game has gotten I think it just has a way less aggressive atmosphere than WOW? and judging by in game video's it seems like more of a game than an MMO. it is the first game i have seen in a while i am genuinely exited about and i will definitely be buying it. will any of you lot?

Yup, already have. (Vengath(Sith) on Chuundar) Generally i'd say its best descibed as being a modern KOTOR with lots of other ppl.

I'm a little torn. On one hand, I don't play MMO's a whole lot, and haven't played a subscription-based one in forever. On the other hand, so far it seems like it'll have excellent single player elements and will be perfectly enjoyable to play simply as a new KOTOR game that just happens to have other players jogging around in the background.

So... Maybe?

Considering I'm already in Early Access since the 13th, and have my Digital Deluxe Edition pre-ordered.. yeah. I'm most definitely already hooked to do so.

If you loved the KotOR series, you will likely enjoy TOR. And personally? I think they chose well to make "KotOR 3" and beyond an MMO. A single player game set in the middle of a galaxy wide galactic war doesn't really seem to make sense at telling the entire story, considering how many people and the events those people are involved in there are in play throughout the entire ordeal. The "One hero to defeat the forces of darkness" plot that the first two single player games had doesn't feel as in place as "Many unique, somewhat normal hero's fighting everywhere to advance the interests of their respective sides, for better or for worse" does.

Granted, the finale of the entire story of the Galactic War Setting does revolve quite a bit around the eventuality of the Jedi Knight defeating Vitiate (as foreshadowed to in "Revan"), but it takes more than a lone Jedi Knight and his/her companions to take on an entire Empire (Revan/Malak's Empire was more like a large roaming fleet centered around one key device rather than a galactic invasion army with multiple seized worlds for grounding) AND create a well-rounded historical story, no less.

Don't have the PC to run it, and I'm afraid I would quit my job and let my children raise themselves too play it.

However if I had a proper PC and 8 sets of hands I would buy it and plays the Dickens out of it.

So until that day I will watch Let's Plays of it on youtube.

Possibly. My main focus is on Guild Wars 2, but there's no signs of that coming out any time soon. So if i do get it, it'll be to pass time untill Guild Wars 2. Of course, I want to rush through the 4 Guild Wars 1 games to get caught up on the backstory, so i may not get it anyway.
The fact that it's a Bioware game and the focus is on story make me want it, but the subscription and the fact that it seems to stick with the WoW gameplay formula makes me want to skip it.

So... maybe.

Nope, but a Let's Player I enjoy started a series about it, so that's cool I guess.

I will not be. I played in the testing for a weekend and it was fun. However, it was not $15 per month fun (at least not for me). On top of that, Guild Wars 2 will be out in the near future, or so I believe, and I don't have to pay a dime for that after I've bought the game itself if I don't want to. I also don't care for the SWTOR art style. It's too cartoony for me and I would prefer a style that was showcased in the trailers.

Maybe if/when they drop the subscription. If I played it, all the online/multiplayer stuff would be wasted on me anyway. I'd actually actively avoid other people playing alongside me.

If I hear it plays much like KotOR I and II then it'll be hard to resist, as I actually love that kind of gameplay. Still, I wish there were two payment methods: one for single-player people and one for people who actually want an MMO.

Preordered the Collector's Edition on July 21st, about 2 hours after they announced it.

Enjoyed my time in beta months ago, enjoying my time in the early-play now. :D

Nope. I've given up on MMOs. I'm too good a player for casual guilds and too busy and laid back for a hardcore one.

There are middle ground guilds. "Casual raiding guilds" I hear tell. I was in a nice one for two years in WoW. They were good enough that the hardcore people payed attention to them but bad enough that they didn't really respect them as an organization, lol. We downed everything and saw everything. Just not in a timely fashion.

But either way they're a big time sink so more power to you.
