The Smithsonian American Art Museum has invited the public to vote on the games which will be shown in the "Art of Video Games" starting on March 16, 2012. A voting site has been set up, with a rather questionable division into eras, platforms and genres, and you can vote for one of three games in each of the 80 categories.
The nominees were chosen by Chris Melissinos, the founder of a website called Past Pixels for "their graphic excellence, artistic intent and innovative game design" and approved by a board comprised of developers, publishers, academics and gaming press.
