There is a lot of talk about games being art these days, so I just wanted us to look at what we have so far:

Criticize, interpret, and challenge. I want to start up some good discussion of whether these games are art.

My main criticism of some of these games (i.e Babies dream, loved) is that they fall into obscurity and ambiguity, I feel they should try harder to help u understand the feelings and themes they're trying to evoke? What do you think?

I've always really liked the atmosphere in these games, I'm not sure what it is, but it mainly comes from Looming, and Every Day The Same Dream, they're my favorite. Also I don't really think You Only Live Once, and Sweatshop Boy should be in this category.

Yeah, just played the "Every Day the Same Dream" one, that was pretty spooky. Definitely goes on the "good art" category for me.

I think Loved is a good example of where we should be taking artistry in games--namely, creating meaningful interactions between the game and the player (not good graphics/good music/etc., good interaction), and using those interactions to further the games meaning. It's not necessarily deep, but it's a start. That being said, I don't get why people like Every Day the Same Dream that much. It was pretty bland and uninteresting and, form an interactive standpoint, fell pretty short of Loved as an art game.
