I dont know what peoples reaction to this will be but ive had the idea now and i cant get it out of my head until ive done it. And perhaps this is one "ask a...." thread to far, but their is only one way to find out.

Perhaps i should first assure you that i am perfectly healthy now and was given the all clear 3 years ago, however i have been left with a mild epilepsy (for more details just ask). Ive seen a few comments and comparisons on the subject of cancer on these forums, a fair few of them inaccurate, i thought i'd open the oppurtunity to spread some knowledge on the subject.

Oh... and this is not some wierd boast. I swear.

For the obvious Q's i had it for about 6 months, and it was non-hodgcins linthoma cancer.
(i dont know if thats spelled right or not).

[EDIT] i didnt start this thread to depress people, let your responses be light hearted, i'm fine, i'm not affected by it or anything. throw in a joke or two even.

[EDIT] there is no need to congratulate me guys, it was 4 years ago and the fact that i got cancer was pure chance, and it was more of a win on the doctors side.

What are we supposed to dicuss?

Good for you though.
myths about cancer, other posters personal experiences, or those of their friends, or anything else that may come up.

Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Oh, and how long did you have symptoms before a diagnosis?

What does it feel like?
well if you like getting stoned, and the odd bit LSD, then their are some bits you'll like.
but you'r head goes fuzzy alot, it's just like feeling sick for a long time.

to sum up i suppose you just feel weak.

i think it was about a month or two before it was found, apperantly the tuma was causing fluid to build up on my lungs, which is why i was having trouble breathing.

I'm the cool kinda guy who doesn't do drugs, so I expect I'd only understand the weak part.

Are there any positives? Like when I got my tonsils out I got a ton of ice cream. That was awesome. Do you get ice cream?

Ouch, I never considered that another member of The Escapist could have cancer, or any disease

How mild is the epilepsy? Could you still drive a car?
