Recently after having a solid two days binge gaming of the assassin's creed series, I had a moment of stars alignment, looking at the world and seeing code, essentially an epiphany about the possible storyline of Assassin's Creed. (There may be some of you who don't care but I've played so much Assassin's Creed recently Im surprised im not getting the bleeding effect [ haha... god thats lame])

I'm near the end of completing Brotherhood which by now is old news as it came out a while ago (I'm a bit of a bargin bin bandit, and it totally sucks cause I really like the online multiplayer which is now barren and empty), and If im simply stumbling onto something that is found out at the end of the game , when then just tell me so I don't sound out like that guy who just discovered that Samus is a girl or that scarlet robe is your mother (or any gaming revelation).

The vibes I'm totally getting from Brotherhood is that the team (lucy, desmond, tec chick, british dude (sorry cant rememebr names))are alone and that none of the other teams exist or have been wiped out. This could be revealed through lucy's conversations in the first assassin's when she talks about Abstergo hunting them down and wiping them out. This only "twinged" with me when in Brotherhood when your in 2012, you go outside to find lucy and desmond talks to her where she says "she cant do it anymore" and then desmonds like "we can be abstergo" and then she's like "I trained you to well". This got me thinking that all the emails in the game are emails sent by lucy to give the team false hope that they are not the only ones (as it seemed a too common occurrence for people to be asking when they could meet up with the other teams and lucy saying that they cant cause they have to concentrate on work with desmond. I mean what else could be the point of the emails in Brotherhood, to hear that that tech chick lost her mp3 player, wow exciting.

Now from that possible theory that the team is alone and all other assassin's are wiped out, it lead me to another theory which I think borders heavily on fan fiction (but i still think could be possible). That Lucy is a Templar.
I mean throughout the series no one directly says that Abstergo is a templar organisation except Lucy. I think that Lucy is using desmond to get the peices of eden, in the sense that it takes an assassin to beat an assassin. What proof is there that Lucy is an Assassin, she missing the hidden blade finger but in Assassin's Creed 2 in Altiars codex pages he talkings of the creed changing so that the assassins can blend in more easily, hell the game even makes a joke about the loss of the finger no longer being neccessary when leonardo strings esio along about taking his finger and hits the table with the butchers knife. Also Lucy doesn't possess Eagles Vision (demonstrated by her not knowing of subject 16s writing in the Abstergo lab (ac 1 and 2) or on the key pad (AC2)) a trait common in Assassin's and true she does come up gold the colour of an ally in the end of assassin's creed one but this could be cause at the time lucy was saving his life from being killed by Abstergo. Even this act doesn't necessarily make abstergo the bad guys (or templars) as though they were going to kill desmond because they didnt want the locations of the peices of eden hidden in his DNA to be known by anyone else, this fits the Assassin's creed of taking one life to prevent the loss of others. This would mean that from the previous theory, that all the templars have been wiped out and that Lucy is tricked or in league with the other two (tech chick and british guy, dont mean to be mean, just cant remember names) into helping revive the templar order.

Besides Betrayal has been a common theme through out Assassin's, eg Al Mahumet the 'assassin leader' in AC1, templar, Esio's Dad being betrayed by his friend to the templars, and Brotherhood it looks like that politican assassin Macheaveli is betraying the order.

So yeah Thats my big Epiphany, yeah its a huge chuck of text and most people will see it and be scared away but i hope some people read it and give me a comment on what they think or if i should stop playing assassin's creed and get some sleep.

Interesting theory. Can't comment on much without revealing some ending parts on ACB. Pay close attention to the dialogue at the end and it'll explain a lot.

With abstergo though, I doubt that they aren't Templars. No one comes out and says it directly save for Lucy as you said but there are a few subtle indicators. The cross shapes on the doors for one, which is the Templar logo, and if I remember correctly, in AC1, the email accessed in the conference rooms closes with "may the father of understanding guide you" which is the Templar catch phrase. If it's not in that mail it's in one of Vidic's but can't remember which one.

One thing I did notice that was odd were the abstergo logos on the super computers in the AC2 hideout. Still not sure what to make of those.

I think if Lucy's a Templar then the whole team is as well and this is just an elaborate plot. Major reason for this is the sheer lack of concern when a character takes a sequence long vacation in ACB. Each sequence in that game is roughly 3&1/2 days so if the team lead just up and vanishes, you'd think everyone else would be worried, unless they already knew where she was going.

Have you finished all of 16's glyphs in ACB?
