I love the game too much to not review it. Also, this is my first review so down try to burn me at the stake if it is shit.

Assassins Creed was the first game I ever got for my Xbox 360, back when it was sparkly new out of the box and not a piece of beat up junk that breaks down every month. At the time, I hadn't really been into the whole idea of sandbox games where you could run around a city doing anything. I just didn't really see a point in them.

The plot was pretty easy to follow. It's about a guy in the future whoes been kidnapped and is being forced to tell a creepy man in a lab coat where a certain piece of treasure is by reliving the memories of one of his ancestors in a machine called the Animus. The ancestor (Altair) is an assassin from the middle east who spends most of his time jumping around and collecting flags, beating up poor beggars and being a dick to the local police forces when he is not causing the city to go into red alert for horribly murdering someone. Altair does some naughty things and so his boss, Al Mualim stabs him, only he doesn't. Actually he uses a "Piece of Eden", some magical shiny object that can make illusions, to trick everyone, including Altair, that he stabbed him. Altair then has to do the hero's job of killing many evil people to return the status quo and make everything peachy in the Holy land. But in the end, He realises that Al Mualim is actually the evil one and ,in true underdog fashion, kills him.

Gameplay and controls
I found that the controls were relatively easy to use. Ubisoft didn't try to be fancy and cock up the controls by swapping the joysticks around or anything so I was happy. However, the autotarget button made it insultingly easy to kill enemies. You just switch to throwing knives, lock on and you could kill the entire city without them noticing. I really enjoyed the idea of having the quicktime events, the blocking and retaliating, without you dieing horribly if you were shit at it. Also, grabbing someone and chucking them off a roof will never ever get old.

Problems
I really didn't like the prick who decided putting poor beggar women would be funny. Yeah, we get it, people are dirty little peasents in the middle east. Thanks for the achievement though, it was really fun to get. Then there were those horrible little leaper things. Weird retards that punched you and only YOU. Then, when you throw them back, the guards latch onto you and you have to alert the whole city that there is an assassin in town. I feel quite sorry for the guards though. They obviously try so hard to keep order and you go in and ruin all the peace within a minute of getting into the city. That's why it was so fun to kill every guard you came across, knowing that their family would then starve at home. The thing that buggered me the most however was the collecting of the flags. There must have been over 500 of those little shits. And some of the achievements were to collect them all.

Conclusion
I think that all in all, Assassins creed was a good game. It had really nice graphics and the assassinating was really fun. The controls were intuitive and the wall-jumping was awesome. I recommend buying the game if you have a short budget. Hopefully Assassins creed 2 will be equally as awesome.

Spoiler tag the ending of the game. Seriously, I would be cursing at you right now if I hadnt already played the game.

Apart from that its a good review.

Uhh, I'm really hoping parts of the review are meant as a joke.
The plot synopsis is poor and you're partly describing player choices.
Quick time events are "Press A to not die", there are no real quick time events in AC, that's just how the combat works.
As for the problems, there are much more glaring problems such as linearity and repetitiveness for a sandbox game, collecting flags (which are entirely optional) and beating up the poor is your choice.
My advice: Go for solid facts, explain in detail why things are good and bad, don't get sidetracked by small things, it seems like you're trying to create a certain style of a review but the angry/sarcastic has been done to death tbh.

Am i the only one who hated the story?
You're not, the story was way too linear and the twist at the end was sooo obvious. They're changing that in Assassins Creed 2.

the only thing that I did not like about Assassins Creed was having to do the same tasks over and over. Although they were enjoyable the first couple of times.
Another thing were the flags. why do developers think that gamers want to spend their time collecting things? Whether they be orbs, pigeons, packages or flags.

To be honest, I thought the wall-jumping was better than the assassinations.

To Redhog: Thanks for the advice. I won't make excuses about my bullshit but I wasn't being sarcastic. I liked the game.

Needs more of everything. Text, explanations, examples, what have you. And a image or two couldn't hurt.

Still, a decent first review. Just try to write some more next time.

EDIT: I really need to review this... I need to shake down my friend for a copy.

On that note, I really need to know how to add pictures.

Easily done friend. Just do this:

[ img]image url goes here[ /img]

Just remove the spaces, and stick the url in. If the pictures are too big, use [ img height=300] as the first bit, and ask me for further details on formatting.

Google Images is your friend.

Concise and relatively informative, given the length. I've always wanted to try this game out, just because I froth at the mouth whenever someone mentions stealth gameplay...

Decent review, but could have been a bit longer and pictures would have been a bonus.

Just needs more detail in each part of the review.

Not a badly written review, but in my opinion you did miss quite a few vital features. For instance, you don't say anything about how the game works. If it was for your review, it could have been a totally linear game, instead of the sandbox game that it is. And what about the whole 'redo the same thing for about 8, 9 times' thingy? Something that had a huge influence on my opinion about Assassin's Creed. Maybe it wasn't important for you, but still, would have been nice if you had at least mentioned it.

Nonetheless, I have to agree fully with your conclusion. :)
