I'm not actually expecting the best response but here it goes (I dont know if this is polite to ask or not).
So I've got a solid Idea for a game, Or at least so I think. However when it comes to programming well I suck same with artwork ect. Pretty much anything required to make a game function outside of designing it I blow at. I would really like to see my Idea come to life to the point where I realize I need a team to help me. Now I know I am essentially saying "Hey do some work for my Idea please" and I know thats not very cool, but whats a guy to do? I do however think my idea can make money and if you agree then we could make money
. That being said if your able to make games send me an email at Charles (dot) Hotaling (at) gmail (dot) com.
A basic Idea of what I am going for can be said like this.
Game play will exist on a chess board(however possibly greater than 8x8)
Game will begin with just your avatar and more units will be summoned to the board as the game progresses
You will also be able to cast spells that will either directly affect the board (kill units diminish opponents health) or modify it (remove squares, erect a wall, ect) these options will come from your deck of cards that you construct before the match. Primarily (in my mind) this game will be a CCG
The fundamental of gameplay will be that for every action you take there will be a window to respond by the opponent. I feel this is vital to a strong game because almost every game that people like seems to involve this fundamental and whenever its broken everyone seems to complain (combos in fighters, Stun style effects... you know)
As far as interface, though I have a distaste for it myself, a MMO world could be created where players could buy costumes for there avatar put there spare cards up on a AH trade them join a chat room maby a casino for in game credits stupid mini games I dont know, but everyone seems to love having a virtual world to present there game (like those meals that come out on fire, it is kinda cool) So this feature probally will help draw in additional people.
Theme and style wise I'd like the game to be based on Asteraly projecting yourself onto a fantasy game board where you use your psychic powers to summon your units and spells to battle it out. Why? well mostly because Psyconaughts proved that the idea of psychic warfare is hillarious and lighthearted and I am presonally tired of games trying to be to serious.
On that point I would hope the game itself can be presented in a very simple cartoon quality to it, not only to keep system req. low but honestly making something look real is hard to do and the bar is so high, even a very human looking human will look off with minor things. however the standard for a cartoon human or robot isnt so making it easier on everyone to pull off a quality presentation.
How it will be carried out is still being play tested but if you agree with me that this fundamental is important and think that chess like positioning and motions will bring a fun mechanic to the CCG gameplay please send me an email and ressurect my hopes for this game. Then maby we can make a significant amount of money, or at least invent somthing very fun.
