Awesome traveling books for an awesome person on an awesome travel.

Dear Escapists! Escapians! Whatever. Dear internet persons!

Within a week I'll be traveling to India, and I'm looking for a good book for the ridiculously long flight. Now, I am in possession of plenty of good books, but most of them are rather tiring to read (classical literature and all that), so I'm looking for something that is both 1) good and 2) rather light. Which is a genre that I hardly know anything about.

..And of course, that's where you come in. So: suggestions, come onto me!

Some remarks:
- It has to be a standalone book. I've got way too many unread books as it is already.
- No 'real' fantasy. Great genre, but also a genre I'm already way too familiar with.
- It has to be readable, but not superficial. I'm looking for a light book, not one that makes my brains melt.
- Besides fantasy the genre isn't too important.
- I'm a 21 year old male with a broad range of interests, both geek and non-geek.


I'm sure plenty these kind of topics exist, but as they aren't suited to my personal needs, I thought it was justified to make one of my own.

I don't know if you intend to finish the book during using flight time or not but most of those books are really good and will merit reading even outside the airplane.

I suggest Yatzee book Mogworld. I do have to warn you however his writting style used in that story could put you off.

McCarthy's Bar by Pete McCarthy is a really good book about his travels around Ireland. It's light, funny, and really good to read.

Plus, although it is a stand-alone book, he wrote another called Road to McCarthy that you could pick up if you enjoy the first.

Me and my Dad have them as standard for flights, we never get bored of them.
