So i was walking to work a few days ago, listening to (for the first time) The Flaming Lips album 'Clouds Taste Metallic' and came across the song 'Bad Days'
It occurred to me that it was featured on the soundtrack to Batman Forever which featured quite a few decent songs.
I was wondering what other films people had seen which are terrible but have amazing soundtracks. The only other ones i can think of right now are Lost In Space and The Boat That Rocked.

The film adaptation of Wing Commander [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAxG4u_rqug] was terrible in so many ways, and yet has one of the coolest soundtracks ever. It's a shame it had to be associated with the movie.

The soundtracks to the Transformers films are borderline examples. None of them are really stunning, but they're pretty easily the most competent parts of any of the films.

TRON Legacy. The movie was fuckin' terrible in almost every single way. But the soundtrack, oh dear god. I've never been much of a fan of Daft Punk aside from a couple of songs, but the TRON soundtrack was absolutely amazing. Favourite track is The Fall. It's so intense and epic and scream!

I thought it was overly pretentious and tried too hard to sound like it meant anything. I felt it could have been a better commentary on Escapism if it wanted, but it didn't unlike say No More Heroes or Scott Pilgrim (Which you appear to be a fan) which are both fun and satire those themes. I did love the action sequences in Sucker Punch, but felt that everything else was just uncomfortable, uninteresting, and slightly confusing. And before anyone says I hate movies that everyone else hates, well...

I honestly loved Tron: Legacy. I don't really get why everyone so vehemently hates it...

Well, I didn't so much vehemently hate it so much as think it was a very shallow, very shiny attempt to make a mainstream movie using a concept that had the potential to be as thought provoking as Ghost in the Shell. Visually and soundtrack-wise, it was very good, but thematically they went for a very sloppily executed 'humanity destroys, humanity creates' kinda thing that just didn't work at all for me. Dialogue wasn't up to much either, and most of the character were straight out of How To Write a Character Archetype For Dummies.

OT: I'm seconding both Tron Legacy and Suckerpunch, I love those soundtracks. There were some good tracks in Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End too.

Good enough, I just don't think people should have had such high expectations for a sequel to Tron of all things. Also, I was too distracted by Olivia Wilde's hair and all the skin tight costumes to notice things like "dialogue" and "characters". I was enticed by the shiny...

I too liked how shiny it was. That + Jeff Bridges + Olivia Wilde + Soundtrack = A movie I was quite fond of, but still let down by.

Sucker Punch for the absolute win. plot was a bag of chips... with bullshit. however the girls, the action, and the music was faneffintastic.

Oh yeah, Jeff Bridges, "You're messing with the Zen thing I have going on." Gold.

Don't get me wrong, i can see it's faults and it does drag itself half heartedly through the non-action scenes, but i still enjoy it. I agree that Scott Pilgim was miles better, but then i thought WaterWorld was pretty badass too.

To agree apparently with a good chunk of people on here, TRON Legacy and Sucker Punch would be my winners.

Honestly, I go out for long runs set to "End Of Line", get's me fricken pumped. It's so epic!

You liked Water World? Burn the non-conformist! Actually, I've never seen it...

Well, if anyone hasn't seen it yet, that's basically the movie in a perfect distilled form.

Yeah, i like it, but then i love post-apocalyptic movies. Plus i've managed to see the extra long version [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterworld#Extended_cut] which adds in about 30 minutes of extra scenes.
Back on topic though, Waterworld itself has a fairly decent score. It's not amazing, but it's possibly worth watching the film for.

PotC:AWE was the first film that came to mind... wasn't terrible, just very incoherent and felt forced, but great music. Gotta credit Hans Zimmer.

Troy was a shit film, but had a pretty good soundtrack as well.
