Axiom Verge 2

Have been pretty hyped for Axiom Verge 2 for a while and have started playing it... So far, while I'm having fun, I feel like it's not as good as the original.
The aesthetic is less interesting and the story so far is being too cryptic and vague. I just have no sense of who's who, what's what, or why I should care. With the original it felt like I was uncovering a mystery but here it feels like there's chunks of explanations for things that were removed before the game shipped.

Gameplay wise it's good though it does feel slower than the original due to your primary weapon being melee but that might change as I get through the game and gather more stuff. Again, I'm enjoying myself but it feels like something is missing from this that the original had.

This has been on my watchlist for a while now. It'll have to wait tho. Not enough room left in this month's game budget. I'll probably get it during the holidays, with some luck with a deeper discount.

I was excited for it till it was stuck in the egs, so fuck it. When it comes on steam, I'll get it on sale.

I feel the difference is that with the first one, Trace was also just as confused as the player about what was going on while this time our main character is talking about stuff as if I know what the hell she's saying like what the hell an ansible is.
