After messing around with the BETA I can honestly say that I am greatly disappointed.
And this is mostly because the game barely runs well at all even on a powerful PC.

But first, let's have a look at the system requirements.
The official [http://forums.vgrequirements.info/showthread.php?t=7690] minimum requirements say that you need a 256 MB Videocard and a 2 Ghz Core2Duo CPU and 2 GB of RAM.

That is just quite simply not the truth I can say after spending 4 hours with the BETA.

I have a Core2Duo 2.7 Ghz CPU, a Videocard with 768MB (8800 Ultra) and the game is virtually unplayable - even at the lowest possible graphical setting and the lowest possible resolution.

Even at 1024x768 the game struggles immensly to keep up. The average famerate is around 15-20 and during firefights the framerate stutters even worse. The worst part about it is that I've been asking people online who tried the BETA and they all tell me that th game is unrunnable if you set the graphical settings to higher than Low.

The main problem seems to be that the game is either heavily dependant on CPU power, and as far as I know if you wish to run it higher than the lowest setting you will need either a Quad Core or an i7 processor. If you wish to play it on the highest setting, God knows what kind of PC you need. Also, a powerful videocard doesn't help much either.

I seen some tech-demos of the game and it seems to run a smooth 60FPS but Lord knows what kind of computer hardware are inside those, because as far as I've seen it, the game is impossible to run - and to even think that most people around here don't have a 768MB VideoCard will not be able to run the game at a playable framerate at all.

This is sad because I was hoping that I would skip Modern Warfare 2 for this game and it turns out the game is just plain garbage.

Too bad, because I am not getting a i7 processor with 4 GPUs for this game.

Uh dude, I've got the beta, I run it at highest setting @ 1920 x 1080, with a Core 2 Duo e7400 and a 4870 1GB Edition. At this setting, I get average of 50 fps.

So because the game is graphically demanding, it blows?

Then I suppose Crysis is the worst game ever made?

I have to ask did you do what I said in the other thread?

It is lack of RAM perhaps? As far as my knowledge goes it is only possible to run 2 (or 3) gigabytes on a 32 bit system. As for your processor it is a duo. They released a patch recently to fix problems people were having with performance on the duo chips.

Go to Program Files> Electronic Arts> Bad Company 2> [BC2PatchInstaller; or something to that effect].

It will install the latest patch and hopefully you will be running smooth :)

Hope I helped.

EDIT: By they way I am running: GTX-285, Q9300 quad core OC @ 3.0GHZ and 4g Corsair Dominator DDR-2 ram with OC timings.

Taking this into account I still get hitches here and there on medium settings with 2x AA and 1680x1050. So maybe it is just the game with it's frostbite engine antics.
I am interested to know if it works.

Didn't you post a complaining topic about BC2 a while back? Give it a rest, if you don't like BC2 don't start boycotting it, christ.

You can't really say that the game is garbage just because you can't run it. I bought EndWar on PC, and it ran slower than a Snail on all low settings, so I got the 360 version. And I love it.

Maybe because I'm not playing on PC with BC2 I can't sympathize with you but, get it for a console. It's fonkin' amazing.

*sigh*

It's coming out for both of the consoles too. So you don't have to piss your pants unless a computer is the only gaming platform you have, in which case, I think you're missing out.

So because the graphical power of your computer can't support the game that means its bad. Before ragging the game try seeing if there's something wrong with your computer or something, maybe something is taking up alot of proccesing power while the game is running and that may be causing the game to run slow.

I'm no PC nerd, i dont know too much about them but the above ive heard is possible to happen sometimes.

And also you have to remeber, ITS THE BETA, its not the finished product, for all you know whats happening with you is a glitch the D.I.C.E is patching up.

D'awwwww... The poor wittle babies computer won't work?
Can he not pway his wittle game?

Seriously dude, it's the fucking BETA not the final code put into the game. Sure it's graphically demanding, what isn't these days?
As of my playing on a console (which I'll remind you the code is almost identical) the game is for the most part very, very good.
Instead of blaming the game why don't you blame your own computer?

My dual-core AMD 3.1 Ghz With a Raedon 4850 runs the thing fine at almost max settings... Are you sure you're playing the right beta?

I didn't really enjoy the multiplayer demo tbh.

Is there a campaign in the game too or is it mainly multi focused?

I played the beta for 360 couldn't stand it just because it was soo slow, and vehicles still handle like crap.

I'm playing on the 360, and it runs fine. So it must be the greatest game of all time, by your standards.

Oh yeah, there's a campaign. Wierdly, they seem to be making quite a big deal out of it. I didn't play BC1 but I did hear a lot of good things about the campaign in that.

As for the demo/beta, I play it on 360 and I've fallen in love with it. I'm not a big battlefield fan because I always feel like the matches are very slow and I'm nowhere near good enough to survive long enough to enjoy myself - BC2 seems to solve a lot of the problems by shortening the spawn time and letting you spawn right next to you team-mates.

The guns feel powerful, and the vehicles are incredibly satisfying to drive. Plus, the sounds and visuals just rock my socks off. Hearing shells go off in the distance, shots flying overhead, buildings collapsing, shells exploding, tanks rolling through trees, helicopters screaming down on APCs with rockets...

Almost like it was some sort of 'battlefield' or something.
