Title says it all

I don't really know why I'm pissed off, it's a fairly reasonable price if it delivers the co-op experience I'm hoping it will. If MW2 did this I would just shake my head and say "that's Call of Duty For you". Yet for some reason this is pissing me off, what are your guyses thoughts?

I was a little surprised to, as I thought it would be a free download.. like DICE's other DLC.

However, I am sure it's worth it.

Well from what I've heard of it it's basically a four player co-op mode in which you play through the multi-player maps taking objectives...

My first question would be, for 800 points, why are there no new maps?
My second question would be; what specifically am I paying for here - effectively they've just created objectives and added a bunch of enemies into the multi-player maps; or so I am to believe. It just doesn't seem worth it, nor does the game-mode interest me; it's almost like they thought everyone else has a co-op mode, so they should too.

I bought it because I had extra money on my PSN account, and it's fairly fun. First, there are no new maps, but there are new times of day, weather effects, and enemy vehicles. For example, on the Valparaiso map, it's at night, and there is an artillery boat that you can take out. However, there were some connection issues (at least on the PS3, I'm not sure about the 360 or PC), where I would be kicked because of loss of connection to the server. However, you can host games rather than just join them, which is neat, and you can invite people to the game straight from the loading screen. One more unfortunate part: points earned in the mode do not contribute to you overall multiplayer rank/weapon unlocks.

The biggest problem I have with things like map packs and other similar DLC is that it's not like how Bungie used to do it with Halo maps. It would be buy only for a little while, then after what seemed like forever, it would be free, just so that everyone would play together.

I wish all DLC was like that. At least the stupid little stuff that people might take for free, but not for $5.

You know what, I think it's kinda worth it. I've only played it for about 3 hours with my one mate and we've really enjoyed it.

My only fear is we have done 3 out of four on hardcore. I hope we don't get bored soon, we'll just have to remember to ration it inbetween playing conquest and rush.

Don't even get me started on buying unlocks...

I was wondering what the possibility for using vehicles is in the Co-op. I was very disappointed in the single player not allowing me to use helicopters or a wide variety of vehicles. I expected it to be different from Battlefield 2: MC but I was hoping it might maintain the same breadth in gameplay and missions requiring a wider skill range than aim, shoot, and take cover. I wonder if co-op allows you to fly and operate vehicles more than single player. I don't often get to fly helicopters or drive vehicles online and to make a private game 7 other people are necessary, making it difficult to have that experience in the gameplay.

i had written something but then i looked and it was this so quoted for truth.
also i think the connection issues may be because of HostQuit syndrome.

Kinda weird how you can buy entire unlocks for kits now, too.
i figured it was so that new players wernt at a disadvantage. a "pay or play" shortcut, if you will.
