I've never disliked a sequel. Well I hated Fifa 12's new controls but that's hardly a squel.

FarCry 2. FarCry 1 is a pretty decent game, FarCry 2 isn't. I don't really know how to explain it, it just isn't.

Crysis is a much better "sequel".

ME3, huehuehuehuehue.

Seriously, though, I don't think I've ever played a truly bad sequel, but then, I don't play a whole lot of franchise games.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

Yes, technically it's an expansion rather than a sequel, but the revamp of the old 1-60 content made it feel like a different, and far worse, game.

Final Fantasy X-2. Fuck that game. All. Day. Long.

Frankly, I've ranted about how much I hate this game so much that even I'M tired of it at this point. But that won't stop me from linking to Spoony's review of it, which covers MOST of my gripes with the game:

It's pretty hilarious, and worth the watch, just for entertainment value. But, to be honest, I feel like he was actually TOO NICE to the game. Yes, I hate this game more than HIM.

In all honesty, I hated XIII-2 more than I ever could XIII. I thought XIII was fine- a weak Final Fantasy game, perhaps, but still an enjoyable game with a few very noticeable problems. Instead of taking a solid foundation and improving where necessary, XIII-2 throws everything XIII did well out the window.

Honestly don't mind X-2 that much. At least that game KNEW it was silly, and it was a ton of fun to play. So many optional quests. :D

Half Life 2. First was OK but the sequel had: a droll story, annoying or uninteresting characters, a crappy AI, a really bad vehicle sequence, and a fairly bad ending. Had to force myself to finish it and I've hated the game since.

The assassin's creed sequels have all continually disappointed me, not because they are bad, but because they are way too easy. Other than that I can't really think of any.

I would think that you would be okay with ACII, due to the expansion of gameplay and a much more interesting protagonist.

Comparatively yes, but it was still boringly easy. Just not as boringly easy as the next game, or the one after that. I suppose ACII is in some ways the best of the series for me, but in other ways I still prefer the first.

I liked the first one the best simply because dicking about the cities was the best part and the novelty grew thin by the next games.

Tekken 6. I liked the arcade games (first three anyway) and rented the 6th. What I got was what seemed like it wanted to be a brawler only with crappy hit detection and no character selection. I didn't really give it much more of a chance than that.

Dragon Age 2: a hack-n-slash too ashamed of itself to come out of the closet...well... never mind.

Final Fantasy XIII.
