Badges, Badges, Badges...

It's been a while since we added new badges to the site and that's something we absolutely regret. But, it's a new year with a fresh outlook and one primary focus we're starting with is to get back on track as much as possible with the community.

As we move on into the new year, we're going to add new badges, quizzes and anything else we can think of that our members would enjoy.

For right now though, we're looking for ideas for new badges! Here is your time to let us know what kinds of badges you would enjoy seeing on your profile (after earning it, of course!) The ones we like the most, and we'll be rather liberal with our selection, will be combined with the new ones we're planning on introducing ourselves.

Please keep your badges safe for work as we do have quite a few folks who visit from work and at school.

Badges you say?

I kinda liked how we did some events like with El Shaddai and having to go on a scavenger hunt for them, or that weird horror event and having to go to a virtual haunted house each day. That was fun.

Although, I do miss the trolling ones that both Kross and ThyNameisMud did. That spinny and red button badge was pretty legit.

Dont know what kind of badges though. Most of the ones I got were for watching content and doing quizzes.

I love badges. You need to start making those game related quizzes again. Perhaps a Witcher themed quiz with Witcher badges

How about Nostalgic badge and Trendy badge. The first one for deep knowledge of really old games, and the second one for deep knowledge of the most recent games. Probably they already exist, don't they?

Also been a while since we got any quizzes. It's good to get some interaction between the site and community.
So we need Warhammer 40k badges, Pacific Rim badges, Starship Trooper badges, more pony badges, probably fucking fuck Bloodborne badges , Star Trek/Wars badges, the list goes on and on

Agreed with milestone badges as well as game-themed badges. Not sure if you have a badges for:

Hitman
Mortal Kombat
Demon's Souls (I know there's a Dark Souls one of some sort)
Blooborne
Uncharted
God of War

Overwatch badges maybe? Afterall, it got this site's GOTY.

If you're feeling really ambitious, you could have a badge for each hero. But that would mean 23 badges, so I dunno if that's feasible.

I'm pretty sure there was one when Witcher 3 came out.

OT: Perhaps badges/quizzes related to the games that the Escapist chose as the best for 2016? I don't know if it's going to be one quiz for all of them or perhaps a quiz for each.

Hmm, a lot of these are quiz related, which is good! We can do quiz badges. More quizzes are on the way. Our resident Quiz guru, [user]Caramel Frappe[/user] has been hard at work testing your knowledge of any and everything!

Milestone badges are a bit beyond our current reach anymore. But, we'll see what we can do about other types.

I have a frog badge so I feel pretty smug and satisfied.

How's about badges based on length of membership/account with the Escapist? I'm working through my tenth year now and hadn't had any free badges in ages.
