So I have stopped paying attention to these two guest speakers in lab because anything they say won't becoming up on the final next Tuesday and I got to thinking: how do I balance all these things I have to do?

I go to class pretty much all day. Get home and study for tests, which is stressful in its own right with finals next week, I live with my girlfriend and I try to have a social life as well as getting some game time in. Since Uni takes up most of time I don't have a job so that is not a factor.

So tell me Escapists, how do you balance your day to day life? How do you manage to get what you need done?

For every three hours of work I do, I get to have a drink at some point in the week. That balances everything.

I've been asking that exact same question. It's all just a bit too much to think about some times.

Most of my life is fairly balanced between a very agreeable school schedule (I get Wednesdays and Fridays off), homework, posting online, and gaming.

I'm not much of one for a social life though.

I have a Microsoft Word document that I have titled "DO THIS SHIT." It helps me keep my shit organized. There's 4 different areas of my life that I try to keep fulfilled

School - I attend every class, generally get good marks, and hand in my assignments on time

Work - Unfortunately, I've only ever been able to get one job in my life that involved handing in a resume and being interviewed. Every other job I've applied for had never even called me in for an interview. Even the ones that just required filling in job application forms and no resumes. They only need me for morning/afternoon hours on weekdays between classes, so it doesn't interfere with anything else.

Martial Arts/Working out - This is a vague sort of category, as it includes Boxing, Muay Thai, Jiujitsu, running, and lifting weights. This is what I live for. Without it, I would have lost my mind from boredom long ago. I train just about every chance I get, unless I'm either sick, injured, away on vacation, or rock climbing (once a month)

Social Life - This is pretty much nonexistant for me outside of school, martial arts, and rock climbing. My preferred method of meeting people is through clubs/events (ie, martial arts, rock climbing, community-type stuff, field trips, that sort of thing). I don't care much for getting drunk, which is a huge thing for just about everyone in college. I would go to more radio (what I'm going to college for) promotions and events like that, but they often occur at times when I plan to go to Boxing.

As long as I do something that will significantly better me in some way, whether it's putting more money in my wallet, or more muscle on my body, I'm content. Sometimes, my life is like a real-life MMO grind. Except it's actually rewarding, because I'm the one who's getting better, not some character of mine.

I just... know what I have to do and how to get it done. I have class (actually it's final exam week, so no classes anymore), hang out with my friends, study, work out, play video games. I would actually say I spend less time studying/doing school work than anything else, but my grades are still pretty high.

I go to school, play games, talk to friends, do homework and play soccer. As of late, sleep hasn't been a very big part of my life. Not because I've had too much to do, but because I haven't been able to.

I just roll forward one day at a time and take care of things piece by piece. Its the only way I can function these days, because thinking about "the big picture" is just too much at the present.

It's all about prioritizing. Granted, I haven't been prioritizing as good as I have been lately, owing to a new relationship. But my life is, currently, work, improv theater, lady friend, a little time for gaming, and sleep (which is the one I've been neglecting of late). Lucky for me, I work pretty good hours.

But anyway, you just have to decide what's most important and get that taken care of first. I'd say it's your education and girlfriend right now, but after finals, it sounds like you're pretty well free.
