KoRn shoots instantly to mind, I used to be a huge fan, like all my mates, now, they hate them and I only like them. Tenacious D too, but they were most of the time, in my opinion, crap!

AND MODS, why can't I use the search button, it just gives me "/news/search" in the corner, and thats what i see for ages, untill the page cannot be displayed massage, help please?

Good call on KoRn. IMHO they lost the plot after the second album. I saw a tour notice for them recently and thought "are they still around".
The Offspring are another band that I no longer care for, which is a shame.

I totally hear you on that! They are one of those bands where I could take three songs off each of their albums, mix them together and make one absolute killer album. That said they were phenominal when I saw them live at the start of the year.

Yep, Rage Against The Machines were pretty cool, due to their first album. Then, they sold out. Shame, really.

Well I stopped listening to Breaking Benjamin's newest album. I mean I still like his older ones but, the newest one... eh, I dunno. It's like you listen to it once and it's awesome, but then you listen to it again and it's boring...

I don't really think you can say they sold out. Sure they didn't really have many areas to go after their first album, but they never lost the ideals that made them start the band in the first place, they were always rapping about political agendas and whatnot. Well, apart from the last album but my point stands, dammit!

I'm going to see them in a couple of months, can't wait! :D

Offspring
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Foo Fighters
Soundgarden/Rage Against the Machine/Temple of the Dog/Audioslave

Which is sad because at one point I really liked all these bands (well, maybe not Foo Fighters. They've always been a puddle of suck). They all used to make really innovative and awsome music, and you can still catch them on the radio in the states. Well, you can't catch any of their good songs, but rather the crappy, generic, mid-tempo garbage that they've been putting out for the last half a decade. That last one get's a bunch of slashes because they all have so many members in common that they might as well be the same band.

I've left out the bands that I've stopped caring that no longer get radio play.

Madonnas new album Hard Candy just feels lame, like a return to Erotica without any cool beats.

Second the Foo Fighters. Genreator, Money Wrench, Learn to Fly; All awsome.

Now they are churning out the same mainstream rock song and it is boring.

Silverchair: They used to be the best altern-rock/ grunge band around in the days of frogstomp and freakshow then they showed a wonderful emotion in Neon Ballroom. After hearing straight lines my ears bled and then daniel johns (frontman) said the most blasphemous thing: "Frogstomp sucked i really prefer my new stuff" (paraphrasing)

RHCP just because they outstayed their welcome. Same with Grinspoon. And Powderfinger.
Faker because they sold out.

many bands have a great first album or a few good oes but then go downhill quickly. Popularity can also kill innovative bands. Viva la Cat Empire for not succumbing.

the thing is they did sing about similar stuff BUT the songs sounded the same, that's where they sell out

look at public enemy or boogie down productions, 2 highly political bands, but you can't take lyrics from one album and stick it on the music from another and have it work like ratm did

also to toss in the pile is front line assembly, i guess bill got upset over rhys leaving and the success of delerium and delerium was another band that falls in there too, tho newer fla has gotten better, guess rhys smacked some sense into bill

kmfdm goes in the pile, tho capt k has gotten better again, their songs kinda took a dip for a while.

ministry is another good example, tho i think that has more to do with a bush not being in power, once bush jr got back into power they went back to their pissed off aggressiveness of earlier albums.

I disagree. It's still not completely mainstream and most of the album is actually very good. The Foo doesn't have to go mainstream to be popular, but it helps that they have a wide listening audience. There is a difference.

I do however agree with Darth about Metallica. Even though I still listen to them, I find myself grabbing their old albums instead of the new ones. They were way better pre-singing lessons.

I agree with you mate. Didn't sell out as much as just played more of the same. And am also going to see them soon in Ireland. Can't wait to hear it all live.

Children of Bodom, everything up to Follow the Reaper has Melodic Metal feel to it which was amazing and made me feel that they were one of the best bands of all time, then it all went downhill, 'Are you Dead Yet?' has to be one of the biggest disappointments in history, everything about it was terrible, it felt good to burn that disk.
