So what do you guys think?
Personally, i think Nolan is taking a good direction introducing Bane to his Story arc.

Batman Begins' theme was about psychological fear and trauma,

The Dark Knight's theme was about chaos and insanity and Batman's patience and will to deal with the Joker who embodies these traits.

The Dark Knight Rises will be "i would hope so" about Batman's Physical endurance and his ability to conquer such a powerful enemy who according to the comics had literally "Broken" him and left him spineless.
Not really sure how they will muscle Catwoman in there since she never really struck me as an interesting character...other than beinga raunchy antihero love interest for Batman...

Who knows, maybe she will contribute to his first boner after he is left flaccid and useless by Bane's physical onslaught.

I think Bane is a horrible idea. The thing with Nolan's Batman movies is that they've all been realistic. Super steroids is kind of an odd thing to include.

i think steroid juice pumped through a tube into your head is more realistic than gas that induce fear and optical illusions such as a bat coming out of a mouth :p

Not sure about the casting of Catwoman. I mean, Anne Hathaway is beautiful and elegant, but she has a strangely asexual aura. But then I haven't seen Love and Other Drugs, so that could all change.

They still need to change the title. Someone suggested "Gotham City", which would indeed be cool.

Hm, I actually hoped it'd be a more underground battle. It's why I really hoped Harvey wouldn've died.

You see, at the end of The Dark Knight you see Batman flee, the police chasing him and the whole "Hero Gotham needs" thing. What I hoped would've happened is that Batman is now pretty much the bad guy, chased down for being a dangerous vigilante who does more bad than good. While the whole debate rages on, Batman isn't as active as he used to be resulting in Harvey getting opportunities to discredit Batman, using his disfigurement and all that.

At the same time we see another villain who smells an opportunity, someone who also tries to get out of the fray and do things indirectly. I was thinking of the Penguin myself who smells a partner in Harvey (both being disfigured and all). He offers him all-out revenge on Batman, using his own connections in the underworld and Harvey's connections in the upper strata to really corner Batman and take him down for good. Harvey's so obsessed with that that he doesn't much care for Penguin's own agenda, which is of course pretty damn dangerous for the people of Gotham.

Catwoman could also be included in this as the not-quite-legal help Batman grumbly has to accept adding a moral dilemma to the film; do the ends justify the means? How would this incarnation of Batman solve that? Even Bane could still be incorporated as a hired goon for some nice action scenes, it could even have scenes like this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muCtJsy-d9w], as Batman now has to fight to save his own skin too.

So there's a city that needs saving, despite it hunting him down, plus his own reputation. How would Batman tackle that? It could be a story of rebirth, the rise of a new Batman which could, in term, be linked to his origin story.

But alas, that won't happen... *sigh*

Agreed. Knightfall, that's a sharp one.

It does seem a little odd that he'd introduce Bane, the super-steroided monstrosity into his (mostly) realistic version of Gotham, but if anyone can pull it off, it's ol' Mister Nolan.

i dont know why people cant take a little fantasy in Nolan's Batman saga, i mean its not like someone can survive through an opened third degree burnt face without anastetic or skin graphs...but harvey did that normally without showing a hint of pain...thats not realism, it's either completely real or it isnt. Nolan didnt want to abolish the fantasy elements, he wanted to abolish the ridiculizing elements.
