Banjo 3 and Conker 2 on 360?

So I recent found out about a few projects that rare was working on for the Gamecube before they got bought out my Microsoft. As the title would suggest, they had projects for both a banjo 3, and even a conker 2 "conker's other bad fur day: getting medieval". We obviously all know the story, Rare gets purchased by Microsoft, they remake conker with multiplayer and kickass graphics (best graphics of any game of that generation, imo), and then we end up getting nuts and bolts on the 360, and rare goes to shit. I cant try to make sense of what goes on at Microsoft, but I do know what would be a great idea.

MS seems to want to allow the xbox to also be for littler kids as well, as we saw at e3; and the Banjo games were a great example of intelligent but kid-friendly adventure games; precisely what MS wants here. Bringing back Rare to work on what they do best, for the 360 seems a great move to me. They could even optimize them to run on windows phone 7 and for Intel integrated chips, so even those kids without home consoles or gaming pc's can play these games.

So; good idea, bad idea? Tell me what you guys think.

I would love to see Rare do something like it. Nuts and Bolts is Banjo 3 though (despite it bieng a very different game), so and unless it (or Kazooie/Tooie) have a sudden rise in sales I can't see them getting another sequel. Same with Conker, great game but not enough £££ in the franchise.

I'm only replying to this thread to thank you for reminding me of Banjo Kazooie & Conker's Bad Fur Day. Those were the days.

The day they make another kid-friendly Conker's game, is the same day I buy a single ticket to Bolivia to escape this madness. Conker's just better when it is adult-ish.

I've always said Rare needs to defect back to Nintendo. Hopefully involving spies and global conspiracies.

Conker Live and Reloaded was one of my favourite games on the Xbox. Rare pretty much went to shit once the 360 came out. It would be nice to get a new (proper) Banjo Kazooie game and even more Conker, but if they were made then they'd end up being like Duke Nukem Forever. In other words, completely overhyped toilet gravy.

I'd rather see a port of Conker, throw in some new game modes and achievements and call it an XBLA title. They've already done something similar with Banjo games and that's the best we can hope for.

As said above somewhere, a new Banjo-Kazooie game in the style of the first two would be nice. I loved Tooie because of the more open world, and they are so fun and colorful and happy, and fun... What was I saying?

Bullshit. This hipster crap is just annoying. Duke was a fail because it spent 12 years in development and went through several different developers. If it was released back in 2000 through 3D Realms it very well could have been a good game.

Conker's Bad Fur Day was an awesome game, and if they adapted it into the current generation it could work great.

If they can do the same work with the amazing story-telling, non-linear world design and exceptional puzzles/gameplay, it would be an amazing game. The parody's and R-rated humor were great on the surface, but under that the game had an amazing story and some great gameplay(best bosses in any game I've played)

You really can't have played CBFD if you believe it wouldn't hold up in the current generation.

Kid-friendly Conker is not Conker.

Hipster, really? This word, I do not think you know what it means.

CBFD is a classic - LEAVE IT AS SUCH.
It'll only be ruined by a squeal of some kind because developers (like RARE) have lost their balls a long time ago.
It'll end up like Scary Movie 12 - the same three jokes, over and over and over again.

hahaha, yah, i remember when i played "Diddi Kongs Isle" or whatever that race game was called, i was incredibly perplexed by the "smily funny wacky" conker they portrayed there, I was a Fan of "Bad Fur Day" and couldnt possibly grasp my mind into what that... thing was in "DKI"

I think that was Diddy Kong Racing, was it for the N64?

OT: I think that a new conker game could be really fun, depends on how well they can recapture Conker. I loved it AND it's remake (hell I still occasionally load up the remake and play it with my girlfriend)

That's a lot of unfair assumptions.

Rare has gone down to shit, that's how things are and that's how things will be.

Excuse me... *runs off to cry helplessly at the corner*

You're the one that started it. ;)
Name ONE sequel/prequel from a developer like RARE that's been done right after all this time.

Perfect Dark: Zero?
NOPE.
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts?
NOPE.
Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber?
NOPE.
.
Duke Nukem?
NOPE.
Goldeneye: Rogue Agent?
NOPE.

Some series need to be left alone, or at least not made until a team comes around that 'gets it'.
A team that's making a game, not because it has a salable name and history attached to it, but because they honestly are trying to make a great game - not just a cash-in on a name.
.
Right now, I just don't see that happening.

Am I the only person on the entire internet who actually liked Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts?
Sure, it was hardly a stone cold classic, but I found myself spending many a happy hour building ridiculous vehicles and mucking around in them (usually with Whose Line is it Anyway (UK series) episodes off Youtube on my laptop). I do agree though that it needed some regular platform challenges and there were too many racing or collecting missions.

Kameo: Elements of Power was a pretty solid game too with a nice art style and decent gameplay. I don't know why people write it off so quickly.

Perfect Dark Zero on the other hand deserves it's criticism, though some of it seems overly harsh. My main issue with it was it felt hugely slugish.
