People think it's cool to bash Oblivion, and no matter what Fallout was going to catch a lot of flak.

In all seriousness the landscape in Oblivion sucked balls. It was all trees, grass and 70 degree upward slopes. You couldn't walk ten feet without being attacked by a wolf.
Right, just like where I live... maybe thats why I like it so much.

but seriously I made this very 'black and white' to prove a point to the throngs of people that I kept seeing that just bash the game for no reason other than bugs they don't fully explain and other factors such as voice acting which, well imagine hiring a diffrent actor for every five NPCs. Granted Oblivions voices were a bit forced but it was still very good for how massive it was.

But its the absurdity of the hate coming at it often without a real reason given that needed to be addressed becasue honestly It feels like your missing something when all these people come out of the woodwork chanting for the 'head' of Bethesda on a pike

Bethesda is still a great game company, while sure they are not perfect, is there really any company out there that is? They listen to the audience and pick up what they need to do right.
Correction, Blizzard IS perfect, their games are just too darn perfect that it's addicting, therefore I no longer play Blizzard games.
i think a lot of wow players would disagree with you, they've borked several classes a few times over

as for bethesda, they have had bad games in the past, daggerfall was REALLY buggy when it was first released. tho they did improve with both morrowind and oblivion in terms of amount of patches needed

i think most of the bashing of them comes for the "it's cool to bash everything" ala "it's cool to bash George Lucas and anything he does"

*snort* This is one of the funniest things I've read today. To the point where I just snotted iced coffee out of my nose.

Maybe a point should be made that Bethesda changed it from top down to first person. It would have been cool to have seen a next gen top down RPG with some real history behind it. I think that it was a big decision to do that, and a convenient one considering they had the Oblivion engine collecting dust. I personally was disappointed to see that they were making it in a first person view.

Fallout 3 isn't a bad game but people have been waiting along time for it, and the hype machine has been working over time. Fallout 2 was one of the most well made games ever(apart from the car glitch :p ) and I think that people were always going to be disappointed with what Bethesda did.
