I've already been in the beta for the head start and I am pretty disappointed so far. There are a lot of bugs and a lot of design issues at the moment. The map choice and game mode for beta are also a bit disappointing.
Many of the things about the beta I can't stand are what BF2 fans get a hard on for also, so it might not be the game for me. Apparently I am some kind of massive noob because I like Bad Company 2.

Meh, pretty much every FPS flies under my radar. Space Marines was an exception if only because a friend of mine said it was like War for Cybertron in it's gameplay. Which in a way it was considering the same stock baddies were thrown at you constantly, though it had a better balance between ranged and melee combat I found. Story was utterly slow paced despite it's brevity of I think like a six hour campaign? (dunno, I didn't clock it but it felt really long and really boring)

Suffice it be said I prefer games more in the realm of adventure titles like the Jak and Daxter trilogy, Banjo Kazooie, Zelda, Darksiders, and God of War. Using guns in a game, annoys me to an extent. It makes for a very passive fighting experience more often than not, I find. Not to mention the FPS genre tends to focus mostly on multiplayer, making for very lack luster single player campaigns. I prefer the more intimate experience of games where single-player is the focus.

So yeah, I sit firmly in the camp of "meh, to each their own".

So, how similar is BF3 to BC2?

It has some stuff. 4 person squads and spawning on squadmates and stuff is still in there. At the moment though you can't pick your own squads, which makes playing with friends a nightmare. You also can't really run around as much as in BC because the damage is through the roof. I'd say normal mode in BF3 is even higher than hardcore mode in BC2. It sorta makes the game stupidly easy because you can kill the whole other team without having to reload.
I am hoping they make some changes because right now its such a massive campfest. It feels really slow and dull compared to BC2.

There is actually a cap on how many you can have, which is around 99,999 I think. Or 999,999. Or something else. That, or this is the true maximum cap.

I had pre-ordered MoH but unfortunatly have not recieved my e-mail, so I will not be able to play the beta early. I did see a video of the gameplay, and it seems like just another generic run-of-the-mill shooter. I guess I will find out if I'm right when the beta goes public.

EDIT: The beta seems to be down on the xbox 360 (can't connect to EA Online) so I still haven't had a chance to play

Clearly, the Xbox Live points sum is written with a long integer variable. I'm going to guess very strongly that this is some sort of bug. Either that, or a practical joke by Microsoft.
