So, which game will you be getting and why?

With a twist!

You can't bias against or insult the other game in your reasoning and if you need to refer to it you must use arguments which you would find acceptable to be used for a GCSE English speaking exam.

There, that should stem any haters who have the ability to read...

OT: At the moment I'm getting BF3 and Skyrim on preorder (good 'ole Amazon, BF3 spec edition is cheaper than the normal edition (same happened with Just Cause 2)) and then getting MW3 for Christmas. The reason being, I know BF3's MP will be amazing and I know MW3's MP will be of a high standard, BUT: I get MW3 for around 40%SP, 60% MP and BF3 for around 20%SP, 80%MP. If the SP of MW3 isn't up to scratch like in Black Ops (I liked MW2s campaign) then that's a large percentage of the value of it to me gone down the drain. On the other hand, if BF3s campaign is bad then it's okay, the MP will be amazing.

So, I'd take BF3 over MW3 as whilst both MPs will be amazing, the SP on MW3 is more valuable to me than the BF3 one, whilst still remaining an unknown variable in terms of quality.

What is your choice then?

I will get neither of 2 gray-brown modern shooters.

Instead I'll get Heroes of Stalingrad and new Counter Strike.

i'm poor and i am going to get only MW3 most likely. for 2 reasons, MW3 looks like it has sick co-op, and i wont hate on BF3, and it will be a great game, but EA is somehow looking more evil than Activision, i didn't even think that was possible. also, why isn't this a poll?

BF3 for me, mainly for the multiplayer. Not to hate on MW3, but I had my fill of MW gameplay. Maybe I'll get it when there's a gaming drought and it's price is down, we'll see.

Oh suuuuure because Heroes of Stalingrad and the new CS won't be all gray and brown, especially HoS. And CS totally isn't modern as well.

Also, if Bad Company 2 is any indication, BF3 will be pretty damn colourful. At least I hope so, Bad Company 2 was fantastically variated in terms of environment.

I'd second you, but good heavens I just don't have the time to play all those games. Especially late October-November will be hellish.

Battlefield 3 for sure. I just prefer the Battlefield gameplay to those of Counter Strike/CoD. I enjoy how dynamic combat gets with the inclusion of vehicles, I love flying planes, I love bigger maps and I pretty much love everything about Battlefield. And even if I wanted some of what CoD had to offer, Battlefield 3 is including it within the new Team Deathmatch mode (not that I'm pretty excited for that to tell you the truth, would rather see them sticking to what they know, but hey).

I'm sure I'll play both at some point, but I pick BF3 first because they do add a bit more spunk to the modern shooter formula.

Battlefield 3. I'm sorry but it's no contest. The fact that MW3 looks identical to its predecessor, just makes me think they're just being lazy (I kid you not, I looked at the first gameplay footage of MW3, and actually thought I was watching MW2). Battlefield 3 looks stunning, and it looks like its a step up from Bad Company 2. I hate the fact that Infinity Ward (and that other developer they had to bring in) had 2 years to make a sequel, when the final product could easily pass for an expansion pack. I'm also willing to bet that the campaign will take about 3 hours to complete. I also hate 12 year old kids, so I tend to stay away from CoD.

if I get one, it'll be BF3. Power Unlimited (for you weird foreigners: that's the major Dutch gamemag) says the MW3 is getting old and not doing anything new. this is coming from the magazine that has a score range of 80-100 (60 if it's REALLY terrible, only 40 when it doesn't even start) and thought MW2 was pretty much the best game EVAR. if THEY think it's getting old, I know I'M going to be bored out of my mind.

Both. To formulate accurate opinions on whether they are/are not good games. (biased towards BF3 tho...)

MW3, always preferred the multiplayer style of COD over BF, just personal preference i guess. i also get quite into the stories of modern warfare, although short, i enjoy them ^^

BF3. I played MW2 and BO (English exam already failed) and I had the most fun when I played domination with a couple of my friends and we were being tactical and using teamwork and stuff. CoD doesn't have that really, while Battlefield (apparently) does. So I'm going to give BF3 a try. Though I would try BF3 even without MP, because of those beautiful graphics.

Yay! Almost 20 posts without a meaningless rant/rage of fanboy/girl-ishness about how (CoD) one is shit because it is and the developer rapes babies in their spare time. Or other such hyperbole.
