So, in case you didnt know, battlefield 3 has been in production for about a year, and any fan of the series would know that battlefield 2 was strictly multiplayer, with only AI singleplayer, in the same format as multiplayer. Battlefield 3 is to be run on the Frostbite 2 engine (not the same engine as in the Bad Company series, which is frostbite), which has the gun / shooting mechanisms of Battlefield Bad Company 2, as well as the Leveling system of Battlefield Heroes. So far, the rumors are that it is not only coming out for PC, but Xbox 360, and PS3 as well.

The real question is, will it be following its predecessor, Battlefield 2 , and be strictly multiplayer, or will they bring in a singleplayer aspect as well?

I wouldn't hate a single player mode, BC has proven DICE are certainly capable of delivering a fun, if unremarkable, campaign.

Multiplayer should be the focus of development, though.

I'm just hoping they can fix the hitbox issues. BF2 is a fun game, don't get me wrong, but you can replace most of an enemy's vital organs with military grade rounds from two feet away and he will turn around and slaughter you.

As for a singleplayer, I'm indifferent. Multiplayer has always been the focus of Battlefield and I think we can safely assume that it always will be. That isn't to say I'm against a singleplayer mode, just that I doubt the majority of BF veterans will care.

Multiplayer is what DICE does best. I hope they do more variety though. Conquest has got very dry now though. BF3 needs to introduce some new modes for the series, and maybe bring back Bad Company 2's Onslaught mode.

I loved the single player in BF2, and if they could make some really great AI, I think it would be a hell of a lot superior to crap like the Cod: BLOPS's campaign. I'm just hoping for a true BF2 sequel, and one that doesn't skimp on the PC version. I'm a console fag personally, but I can still respect when people do it right. I have huge respect for DICE, and choose to have faith that it'll be awesome until proven otherwise.

There are no rumours of it coming to Xbox 360 and PS3. It's already known. I think it even was the 360 copies of medal of honor that contained a future beta code for Battlefield 3.

Hope it doesn't get any single player, really. I think the one in BC 1 was alright, but the one in BC 2 was just bad and I don't want to remind myself of it.

But, sure, Battlefield 3, the sequel to pretty much the best online FPS ever. It should be good. I mean, it has to be good.

Okay I have to get that out of my system any time I think about Battlefield 3.

It will be multiplatform. But other than that there is nothing that is confirmed about BF3 that I know off. The battlefield Free 2 play is going to have the BC 2 shooting mechanics.

Im mostly a console guy, and I loved Bad Company 1 & 2, but the only PC Battlefield I've played was Vietnam. As far as single player goes, I enjoyed the Bad Company ones, but the multiplayer definatly makes the game.

And Singleplayeer wouldn't be that bad, but it could be just a small thingy next to the multiplayer.

It could work but one of the main things I loved about Titan mode is being able to move the Titan as commander.

Also, more on topic, does anyone know if it will be on steam?
