From the "Get the Assault Teams on that Death Star" voiceline they're either going to let go Battlefield 2 on them or the Death Star map is going to be a two-part attack.
Either way this better fucking be free DLC. I don't even have the game and even I'd be mad if they were to hide an integral part of the Battlefield series behind a paywall like this.
Good news and bad news.
Good news, this is not a two-part attack, but a three-part attack. Part one is destroying the Star Destroyer and clearing a path for the assault. Part two is saving R2 on the Death Star and getting him out. Part three is the actual attack on the Death Start--or at least, that's how EA has been selling the whole thing. It's basically one big mission, although I'm curious what happens if the Imperials manage to stop the Rebels at the Star Destroyer. Does that mean the rest of the mission is cut off?
Bad news, you're still paying for this. They've added a few new modes--like a single player fighter squadron and playing against bots--but this is still DLC.
And, unfortunately, I must admit that this broke me. When I heard the rumors about this map pack, I got my hopes up. When I saw the teaser for it a few months ago, I was giddy, but I told myself I'd wait to actually see the real deal. After seeing this though, I've broken down. I'm going to buy it because it looks amazing. Space battles in Star Wars are what I live for. I'm getting a VR headset just to do that one X-Wing mission they'll have, so this was a given for me.
