Be the super villain

I am still wondering why no one has made a game where you are the super villain. Super villain as in take over the world. Have super powers/ an army/ make weapons of mass destruction/ evil quest line. Is this not a good idea for a game?

Maybe even have side quest like "destroy all pandas" and you army can get panda suit armor. "made of real panda skin"

Yes I know about mastermind on newgrounds and the game they made. But a Saints Row style/customization will be amazing for an idea like this.

Why isn't a game like this made already?

I believe 'Overlord' falls almost perfectly into your criteria. Sure it's a smaller scale, but same idea.

Overlord, Evil Genius, City of Villains, Dungeon Keeper...
In all of those, you are evil as fucking sin.

Want customization? Play CoV.
Want hordes of minions? Play Overlord, Evil Genius or Dungeon Keeper.
Want to be the scourge of humanity? Play Fallout 3, Fable or Black & White!
I'm damn certain that there are even more games than those that let you do the same!

Also, have you not seen the upcoming game called "Prototype"?

Ya they were alright, but Iam saying not a fantasy mid-evil style game. Like Imagine the DC universe full of heroes and villains flying around. And you a super villain to conquer the world. Of course the world is way to big, so the game will take place in mostly major cities.

Ya they were alright, but Iam saying not a fantasy mid-evil style game. Like Imagine the DC universe full of heroes and villains flying around. And you a super villain to conquer the world. Of course the world is way to big, so the game will take place in mostly major cities.

And city of heroes is an mmo. Hard to be number 1 in a game where everyone else is number 1. Iam talking about single player of course for a game.

And I guess maybe you can be number 1 in city of villains. Since you may be the only person playing on the server lol

How much fan dedication is there to the badasses of gaming? You know how much people'd freak if there was a full video game where you play as Sephiroph? Multiplayer fighting games do not cut it, people. I want a real villain game where I play as Bowser and kidnap the Princess. That would be fun.

LOL I told my friend the idea of being bowser. Controlling massive gombas/koopas and making castles. LOL I guess other ppl will love this game as well.

I don't think it's been done because of political reasons.
No one wants jack Thompson after them, but at the same token it's a really great idea.

hehe black and white, I made 2 games, my usual buildy, happy loving environment with the spoilt community of whiny miracle receivers and yay my god is great partiers.

And another where everyone was downtrodden depressed and forced to build, battle and work in my name til they died of starvation, needless to say it felt very villainish.

The question that you're really asking us is "why don't I know about any games where you get to be the super villain?"

But yeah, there aren't many, it's always been hard to get acts deemed "evil" approved in any game.
