Before the MMORPG

Those of you who played MUD's; I know you are out there. Just starting this thread to talk about our experiences with these archaic games and how much fun they were. Personally, my favorite was Lands of Aethar which actually stopped running not to long ago. So please, post good memories, your favorite MUD or anything else about this topic.

While I'm not much of an MMORPG person, I did try Prefect World and it was goodish. Firstly there wasn't the issue of high level players killing off the newbies and it didn't need a computer with epic graphics...also, it was FREE. The player base was lacking in jerks but there wasn't much in the way of varity. I played it for a good few months before my old laptop crashed.

I actually still enjoy the very occasional mud. There's a Shadowrun one floating around on the nets that's pretty good.
