?Over the past four days, I?ve talked to three separate people, who are connected in some way, to what is going on over at Warner Bros,? Campea said. ?They?re telling me that Ben Affleck, make no mistake, he does want out.

?He doesn?t want to be Batman anymore. I have been told that Affleck is talking with Warner Bros. in an attempt to get out of being Batman.?

Whether the rumours can be taken seriously is another matter completely, with Campea also warning fans to take it with a massive grain of salt. Both Warner Bros. and Affleck have yet to comment on the situation.
This is the death of the DCEU if it comes to pass, Affleck holds his craft to a high standard and I guess the only way he goes back into the Superhero game again is with Marvel and Kevin Feige.

Damn if true. But the DCEU was basically cursed out of the gate. It took Marvel what, 4 movies to get to Avengers? And DC tried it in 1.

5, actually, so yeah, DC going for it in one is just stupid.

And I can get why Affleck would want to leave. He's picked the wrong horse in this race.

I mean, can you blame him for picking that horse?

To be fair to Ben, how was he to know the people running these movies were complete morons?

I understand why; Batman v. Superman and Suicide Squad tarnished Batman's character, the next movies (I've been hearing) are having production troubles, and the whole DCMU sucks. It's a shame too, because I hear that Affleck can portray Batman good, but he's only been given poor material to act to.

Meanwhile Teen Titans: The Judas Contract showcases that animation is superior to live action

Except that story is gonna be butchered by the current DCAU continuity. Why is Damian there? Why is Blue Beetle there? No Cyborg due to him being upgraded to JL's glorified IT guy.

You can say the samething about many comics that re-used any of these story lines like the Judas Contract everytime comics go through a reboot.

This is a classic story that should've just been a straight adaptation of the comics. They didn't reboot the actual story in the comics. The story is still there. Also, giving Nightwing his red costume is shitty considering it's blue again. But the DCAU has gone downhill since Flashpoint.

Ah you'll change your tune when Bruce Timm directs his Batman and Harley animated movie.

Probably not, Bruce Timm butchered the Killing Joke.

It's funny how things work out. Leading up to the release of BvS everyone was bemoaning the fact that Ben Affleck would play Batman, and now everyone is lamenting his (potential) departure. I thought he was on the same level as Christian Bale, and I'll be really upset if we never get more Batman from Affleck, I think he has a lot to offer the character.

Whether he leaves or not, one thing is certain: People are fickle.

Lets see here...he was not:

Directed by: Sam Liu
Produced by: Bruce Timm, Alan Burnett, Sam Register
Written by: Brian Azzarello

That's like saying Steven Speilberg is now bad because he produced the Transformers movies. Yet ever since he made Oscar nominated movies since.

Bruce Timm had quite a bit of input on Killing Joke.

Than wikipedia should have place Brucy boy in the Writers credit.

There's plenty of films that have uncredited writers. It's not an uncommon practice.

And its a practice I hate because it gives away misinformation.

Probably because of what it means. I am not a fan of Batfleck, but he ended up being nowhere near the biggest problem of that movie. Also, he is not being "given the boot" because of poor fan reception or problems with the rest of the cast (I wish WB would listen with Leto and Eisenberg)... He is the one that wants out, apparently out of frustration with executive meddling and lack of creative freedom, and he is one of the biggest names in the whole production.

I would probably be wary about the longevity of a project when someone that not only seems to really like the character [http://batman-news.com/2013/08/27/ben-affleck-loves-batman-built-a-batcave-in-his-house/], but is also an award winning actor, writer and director, and has the net worth of all the other mayor actors put together is burned out of the whole thing after little more than one movie.

Like I said if he returns to the world of Superheroes it's with Marvel and in that vein I think he'd make a great Smythe.
