Beneficial Addictions

There are many different things we humans can become addicted to. But usually whenever we use the word 'addicted' we use it to describe someone who is doing something bad. Whether it be addicted to drugs, video games, alcohol, sex, pornography, etc. Rarely do we ever attach the word to something good like "I'm addicted to Carrots".

My question to the escapist is what kinds of things are addictive yet we can ALL agree are good for us in some way? Now obviously an individual could be addicted to vegetables or whatever but the majority of people wouldn't understand that. I'm talking about something that everyone thinks is a good thing for your body, environmentally, or ethically in some way or another.
EDIT: Many people have been saying obvious ones like 'Air' and 'Water'. Of course these things are required for our body to function. Perhaps make it more interesting like something our body doesn't actually need in order to survive and yet is beneficial to us in some way. Remember; it doesn't need to be consumable.

Is the horse representing sex or pornography? Either way it's creeping me out...

Anyway, if we weren't so overpopulated sex would be.

Can't think of anything else.

I'm addicted to corn, cheese, and video games.

My mom made corn bread casserole with cheese on it while I was playing video games once o_O my head nearly exploded

Well everything is bad in excess, which is what addicted implies.

Breathing I suppose, unless you get addicted to it then want as much in you as possible, and end up hyperventilating a lot.

The problem with that idea is that generally, someone is said to be addicted to something when the person's attachment starts to have negative effects.

The only way I can think of an addiction being beneficial is at the end of the third Blackadder series (you know what I'm talking about)

ummmm. isn't an addiction bad regardless of what it is you're adicted to?

I mean really adicted to, not just really like, as in to have a psychological dependacy on something.

Being addicted to exercise is a lesser evil I suppose. But everything in moderation is best.

I'm totally addicted to music.

The biggest problem that gives is that I can't stand working, as I work in a supermarket in a very religious village that actually made us ban in-store music, which practically every other store does have.

Other than that it has yet to give me any issues.

Okáy so it's not a réal addiction... Shut up.

You'd be surprised, it's pretty damn wrecking for one's body actually, a real addiction to exercise.

I have a non addictive personality, but there are some television shows I will constantly watch regardless of how many times I've seen them. This is generally because I know that they are good, so I'm comfortable to veg out and not think to hard when I watch them. This isn't a daily thing, so I'm not sure it counts as an addiction. It's definitely harmful though, as it drives the missus to homicide..

Everyone agrees it's extremely beneficial, and yet if you tried quitting, the withdraw would kill ya :D

No doubty. But I think I'd prefer it to some of the other available options.

I think we can all agree that any addiction isn't very good, that's the assumption I was working under.

To be fair, an addiction suggests that you are over indulging in a certain object, usually consumable... even a good thing can be bad when taken in quantities that induce a genuine addiction.

As for me, I'm addicted to circus skills and video games!
