This is where all 2011 album opinions meet, and maybe clash. Who knows?

BEST:
Amon Amarth - Surtur Rising:
I only expected the usual Amon Amarth style with this one and that's what I got. Also, synth.

Anthrax - Worship Music:
Without a doubt the biggest surprise of the year. Bought it on a whim with only hearing 10 seconds of "The Devil You Know". It's looking to be my favorite of the year.

Worst:
Opeth - Heritage:
Opeth is my favorite band bar none. I appreciate what they tried to do, but it just didn't click with me.

Albums still to come:
Iced Earth - Dystopia
Insomnium - One for Sorrow

Honorable Mentions:
Tyr - The Lay of Thrym
Alestorm - Back Through Time.

Yes, I am a metal kind of guy.

The best album is going to be the re release of nevermind. Lets not kid ourselves. And arguably, it deserves to be. It may be a re release, but its still so much more, and already is such a good album on its own right.

However, I find the Best album to be Im with you, by the RHCP. Though if Alice in Chains decides to release their album, thats going to rocket to my personal list.

Death Cab For Cutie had a great single in You are a tourist, though Im not sure about the rest of Codes and Keys.

The worst? well, a nickelback CD is scheduled out in November, as is a daughtry CD. But I dont find anything wrong with either of those bands, at least not to make me froth at the mouth with hate that it seems others have.

Rolling papers definitely takes a low on my personal list, but I dont care for Wiz Khalifa (which is some sorta sin since Im from around Pittsburgh, but fuck him. hes not going to win me over just by singing Black and Yellow. I may be Steeler nation, but Im not a yinzer sheep).

Evanescence hasnt exactly impressed me in recent years, and maybe its just me, but I havent cared much for them since their single Bring me to Life.

However i guess my personal worst has to go to Selena Gomez and her band.

Really enjoyed the soundtrack for Sucker Punch. Zach Snyder certainly knows how to arrange a great soundtrack. Was also quite pleased with the Fleet Foxes new album Helplisness Blues.

While I don't think I would call it terrible I would definitly have to say Watch the Throne by Jay-Z and Kanye West was the biggest let down of the year (so far of course). Considering how talented both these artist are I was expecting alot more, expessialy from Mr. West who's last album (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy) turned out to be one of th ebest albums of the past decade.

Worst: The newest Red Hot Chili Peppers album. Haven't heard it, their just my most hated band.

Hollywood Undead's "American Tragedy" album is the worst I've heard. It seems that when they fired Tha Producer, they fired the talent, because "Swan Songs" was gold.

Best album... Hmm... Tyler, the Creator's "Goblin" album is very damn good.

"All Eternals Deck" by The Mountain Goats is a strong contender.

I'm probably going to give it to The Civil Wars album "Barton Hollow". The most beautiful music I've ever heard.

Still to come, Patrick Stump's "Soulpunk". It will probably take it all for me.

I know I'm probably leaving something out that will come to me soon enough.

EDIT: Most disappointing, "Night Shades" by Cobra Starship. Though really, I saw that shit coming... At this rate, they'll never release a proper "Viva la Cobra" sequel.

Best albums for me are either a toss up between Leveler by August Burns Red or Dead Throne by The Devil Wears Prada. I can't say what's the worst though.

Best ones for me were Taking Back Sunday's Taking Back Sunday (by Taking Back Sunday) and Endgame (by Rise Against). But then again I have quite picky musical tastes. Have to say I think most music critics will give Adele's 21 the honour.
EDIT: Oh, and I forgot Fishin' For Woos by Bowling for Soup. After the disappointment of their last album, this was humourous and fun.

An honourable mention to Tributaries by The Reveling as well; I doubt anyone's heard of it but it's another "pay what you want" album (so you can get it for free if you so desire) and an extremely good pop-punk record to boot.

Worst one has to be Gold Cobra. Even as a Limp Bizkit fan, the lyricism (or lack thereof), vocal quality (or lack thereof) and general all-round shittiness of the later tracks are unforgivable.

Best - Psychostick - Zombie Dinosaurs VS Space Vampires in 3D
The Soulless - Isolated
Worst - I'm not sure bout that, if Niki Minaj has had an album this year that is the worst album ever, because I DESPISE her

Does It Offend You, Yeah? - Pull Out My Insides
Calling All Cars - Reptile
Trial Kennedy - Exology

Most disappointing album this year;

Arctic Monkeys - Suck It and See

The only reason you probably wouldn't like is the fact that all the songs are covers, but yeah if your not interested in the movie I still think you'll like the movie.

My favorite of this year is either The Decemberist's The King Is Dead or Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

I don't know what the worst is. I was very disappointed with Bon Iver's new album, which eschews the folk sound of his first record in favor of a sound more akin to chamber pop. So that's my biggest letdown.

well the art of the album seems to have largely died.

but Making mirrors by Gotye would be up there for me , but this years larger releases seemed to hammer home the motley selection of singles with fodder formula.

Maybe this modern glitch by the wombats but it feels a tad over produced when i compare the album to their live set.

i am looking forward to a studio album from the redcoats

Best:
Devin Townsend - Deconstruction

Worst:
Morbid Angel - Il Divinuminudiumne-whatever shitty name that disgusting monstrosity of an album had. Seriously - it's the St Anger of death metal.

Prepare to have your ears raped:

Best:

Devin Townsend - Ghost and Deconstruction
Dave McPherson - The Hardship Diaries
and from what i've heard Primus - Green Naugahyde
Not an album but The Omega Experiment - Karma EP, this band are the only guys that completly capture the atmosphere and magic which was Ocean Machine : Biomech by Devin Townsend.

Worst:

RHCP - Im With You, the thing is is that I love the band but this was just awful its just bland as hell and removed all the stuff that made them great in the first place.

OP, your honourable mentions are my personal favourite album this year, along with Symfonia's debut "In Paradisum". Just epic Power Metal. Favourite Track:
As for my worst...

Hammerfall's "Infected" and Rhapsody of Fire's "From Eternity to Chaos" would be they. These were brought on a gamble and they just did not impress me. Infected did not feel like a Hammerfall album; B.Y.H., One More Time and The Outlaw were pretty good but the rest of the album just was too different (and where did Hector go!).
As for Rhapsody of Fire, i found it somewhat repetitive and boring and i phased out while listening (not a good sign for me), and it did not 'click' with me.

I want to say the worst was Example's new album but it wasn't that bad just not particularly good.
