Best Doctor Who Doctor?

I recently got into Doctor Who and Have been watching the episodes with the Tenth Doctor and I'm really liking them. I've seen some the Elevenths episodes and they weren't bad either. I've seen pictures of some of the older Doctors and they don't look interesting. Maybe its because I don't want to see some old guy having sci-fi adventures. So Escapist I would like to ask, who is the best Doctor, in your opinion.

From those I've seen act, David Tennant takes the gold (I've seen the first, and the ninth through eleventh doctors).

But from appearance, I like the guy with the scarf most.

Fella with the scarf would be Tom Baker.

My favourite four (can't choose between them) have been Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Christopher Eccleston and Matt Smith.

Tennant. I like the latest guy, but I thought Tennant played the role of a not-all-there super-being forced into a position of responsibility perfectly.

Tennant could have been far better if he had those things.

Definitely Tom Baker. He's the end-all Doctor Who in my mind.

David Tennant and Jon Pertwee were also excellent.

I'm not yet sold on the new guy.

Dude, the new writers BOW before the others, they are NO WERE NEAR as good as the others!
There are too many plot holes to count.

I'm with this guy, that last series had some of the worst episodes of the new series, including the absolute worst I've seen from the new series. (The Victory of the Daleks, that was so atrocious).

For me, Tennant is the best of the new doctors, of the old ones I like Tom Baker.

I couldn't of picked two more generic answers, but there you have it.

Matt Smith. I have only seen David Tennant, Christopher Eccleston, and Matt Smith. I haven't seen any of the older episodes of Doctor Who. Christopher Eccleston is my second favorite. Don't get me wrong David Tennant was good, brilliant even, but after awhile he just got a bit stale, a bit too predictable, a bit too familiar.

I've watched Dr Who since I was a kid seen every Doctor and Tennant is at No1, Tom Baker No2, Jon Pertwee No3, Slvester McCoy No4 and Matt Smith No5

Tennant was ok but the quality of RTD's writing really let his Doctor down. He turned the doctor into a sook with ridiculous story lines. (The End of Time and Journey's End - what stupid stories, no thought went into them at all).

I would have really liked to see more of Paul McGann, I think he would have been brilliant. But for me the best is Eccleston. He just seemed to be the appropriate embodiment of the character for the time.

I do give points to Hartnell because he is the first, and to Davison for being a refreshing person to take over from Baker.

Haven't seen enough of Matt Smith yet, but he is enjoyable to watch as the doctor at the moment.

Well, Baker was the first Doctor I ever saw, so there's a lot of nostalgia there. But Eccleston is my favorite. Although, I have done more Halloween costumes as the tenth.
