I'm reading "Against a Dark Background" by Iain M. Banks, and was both amused and impressed by the idea of a Lazy Gun (a weapon "with a sense of humor," that picks a creative and occasionally funny way to kill people, cities, mountains, buildings...). I'm very against violence, but the idea was so interesting that I couldn't help asking: what other interesting or cool weapons have you encountered in fiction?

As you can probably guess, I liked Near better :p

But, you have to admit, the later episodes had the best intro ever

In Fables Boy Blue has a witching cloak which I always loved. Could hide an infinite amount of anything in it.

Well obviously! It's Maximum the Hormone!

I loved the battle between L and Light and then, after that, them working together but still squabbling and even fighting over Misa (if you read deeper that is). When episode 25 came along, all these new characters were introduced and it was a bit weird and strayed from the path a little bit.

True. Plus they really brought the characters down a few notches from the manga

I didn't like most of them after Vol 7, but at least they were somewhat tolerable in the manga. In the anime, they're almost unbearable.

That's what I love about anime; They make everything so dramatic.

I'm gonna have to go with the Experimental MIRV from Fallout 3. It was basically a shotgun that fired nuclear warheads. Overkill, sure, but SO MUCH FUN!
