Low content post?
Perhaps.
The Witcher 2.

I haven't had the time to play anything else since I'm busy with Fallout 2 at the moment, and it doesn't qualify as 2011 material.

My GOTY 2011 comes from 1998
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time 3D.

Portal 2 and Pokemon White were also excellent games.

Portal 2, inFamous 2, Dead Space 2, all great games.

All of which, will inevitably fall to the mighty Skyrim.

Just completed my first run on Infamous 2, and I loved every second of it. Definitely has the stuff that GOTY is made of.

Is it worth buying and playing if you've never played it before?

Yes, yes.
Even of you don't understand English, hate computer games and you are currently dead, you must play it.
A fair warning, the performance is a bit shaky therefore you might need a virtual machine set up with windows XP in it.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 for me. It was a brilliant and exciting fighter that always frustrated me just enough where I want to keep trying. Damn heralds!

LA Noire has been a great game. It's best if you play it in small bursts, a couple cases at a time. Still, the unneeded sandbox really holds it down...

Pokemon White has been very addictive, and solves a few issues of the previous generations while adding a few interesting twists of its own. Still, if you didn't like Pokemon before even at Gen 1, this isn't going to change your mind.

Portal 2 was great, but there were a few sections that not only dragged on for a little while, but those sections tended to be the most annoying parts. Thankfully said parts were few and far between.

inFamous 2 has been perhaps the biggest surprise. I liked the original, but for there to be such an improvement was unexpected. Can't wait to play more of it later tonight.

Shadows of the Damned is gonna end up this year's Singularity/Vanquish: a fun, interesting game that will be buried by the CoDs and the Battlefields and the Portals and all the other attention-hogging FPS giants.

Honorable mention to Marvel vs Capcom 3: If the online matchmaking wasn't so bad, I'd have put it above Shadows.

Still, between Battlefield 3, all the awesome 3DS games coming out, Saint's Row 3 and Zelda Skyward Sword, this is going to be a good year for me...

I actually haven't bought any recent games. Wow. I think the most recent game I bought was probably Black Ops, but I bought Mass Effect 2 a couple of months ago and that game is the most fun I've had in a while. I got Splinter Cell Conviction as well because it was cheap, but it wasn't that amazing.

By March next year, I will be the poorest person I know with all the games coming out between now and then.
