So Im playing a big conversion mod for Mount And Blade named Prophecy of Pendor. Really fun, fixes the balance with all new army units and factions so that you cant just roll Swadian knights over everything.

There is one faction that in the current version does too well in the long run called the D'Shar, and I dont like fighting nothing but them so this tgame Im just attempting to sabotage them to let other factions florish.

So I started in a faction called the Baccus and almost immediately they attacked the D'Shar and I followed along a marshalls army and in the chaos using the empires troops I managed to capture 3 lords and get like 30k ransom money by somewhere between day 5 and 10, and now Ive bought a bunch of businesses and am rich as hell for so early. Then I helped the Baccus take a D'Shar castle which is in line with my meta goals.

So in light of this, whats your most fortunate early starts to a game?

The game is a squad based tactics game called Enemy. I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and its turn three. The room I spawned in looks like this:

I forget how exactly, but I survived this. I didn't get get a completed run out of it, but I survived the three grenadiers that spawn camped me.

Not sure this is super lucky, but the first time i was playing the Dawn of War 2 campaign, the very first ork I killed on mission 1 dropped Master Crafted Grenades.
Used them for the entire rest of the game.

Not my first start to Dark Souls, but after a few characters here and there and lots of sadness in Undeadburg, I decided to try a Pyromancer.

Got Humanity, decided to summon some random bloke for some Jolly Cooperation. He ran ahead and beat the shit out of that first Black Knight, which dropped a Black Knight Sword.

I was like, oh man I'mma grind until I can USE IT.

It served me very well, smashing most bosses in 4-5 hits. Definitely pushed Capra Demon's shit in, though I died once not realizing he cuts you straight out the door like the cheap bastard he is.

I later retired it for a Large Club and Man-Serpent Greatsword, but it made a lot of that early game less torturous.

I was able to kill the Capra Demon after only a try or two.
Yeah, after hearing about how difficult he is I was disappointed to beat him on my 4th attempt. I only really had trouble because of those two dog things that spawn with him kept getting in my way.

Capra demon=nightmare for wizards who arent great at avoidance, but a knight with a good shield might not break a sweat.

Mine comes from Borderlands out of all games haha.

You get this one SMG called the 'Combustion Hellfire SMG', and its hands down one of the best guns you can find as its got a high chance to incinerate enemies on top of causing tons of burn damage. You practically fire one shot at an enemy and watch his healthbar drop like a rock. Its also, obviously, a pretty rare drop (from what I remember)

I managed to find this damn thing in the first two hours of my first playthrough. Most bosses barely lasted minutes against me, I was killing swaths of enemies at a time and cackling like a madman at the fiery doom I brought upon Pandora, and I stuck with this tiny death gun till near the end where it finally took more than a few seconds to kill an enemy.

The power trip was so much fun I nearly gave up playing Borderlands 2 because of how tedious the early game really is without powerful weaponry xD

Oh I saw one of those in action. I played through Borderlands with my friend, at first I annoyed him with my Berserker character constantly getting all the kills by punching...Then he got that damn hellfire smg thing at level 30. It was crazy, every single bullet added to the fire damage and it fired so quickly that everything dropped dead before I could get in punching range.

Possibly not quite the same theme as the other comments in this thread but I was playing Slither.io once and just as I entered the game a huge snake burst right in front of me. I don't know who they ran into but I managed to pick up a significant amount of their leftovers.

I rarely play the game, and even then not for long, but I did rather well that day. It's only happened once, though.

Started latest season of Diablo 3. Decided to run through a bit of the campaign to grab the Leoric's Crown.

It actually dropped from the Headcleaver attacking Cain. So I didn't even have to go as far as Leoric himself. Super easy beginning. Now I just need to find an XP-up gem to stick in it and I'm rolling. :)

Joined a multiplayer match in Sniper Elite 3 yesterday while a friend was over. Realised as I spawned that the server had realistic bullet drop and no aim indicators. I pointed this out to my friend (who also plays SE3) and remarked I'd probably do terribly.

Anyway, I take two steps, then look to my left. There's a guy about 100 metres away in a guard tower, so I guestimate a shot and fire away at a point above his head. Headshot. We're both kind of shocked. I run over to a wall for cover and an enemy runs round the corner and spots me. My rifle comes up first and I get the kill. barely 10 seconds has elapsed so far.

I lean forward slowly in my chair, and knuckle down for this match because things have just got serious...

First time I fought the Taurus demon in Dark Souls he decided to sidestep himself off the bridge. However, I then proceeded to get roasted as I crossed the bridge right after

Counter-Strike. I've got the bad sniper rifle, the one that takes two hits to kill unless you get a headshot. I come around a corner to a long hallway and go into scope. I see two guys come around the far corner - both with the GOOD sniper rifle that can one-shot your foot. One's already stopping to aim and the other is running behind him to get line of fire. I squeeze off a quick shot and duck back around the corner. I don't even realize what happened until the cries of hacks make me go look at the event scroll - I had managed to put a single bullet through both of their heads without even aiming.

FTL. I've just started a run with the Bulwark, a ship that only has missile weapons. It is basically impossible to get enough missile ammo to keep going for more than about three sectors with this ship unless you can up-arm (but honestly three sectors is usually enough to get some new weapons). First jump: "Holy ****, an Augment is just floating in space!" I get an explosive replicator, which basically halves the rate at which missile weapons use up ammo. I ended up wrecking the enemy flagship with 4 missile weapons, just 2-3 salvoes per stage.

In Fallout 4, I ventured to the north east of Sanctuary after leaving the Vault. There is an old army station there, Dogmeat dug up a Fat Man and I got a mini nuke from the Raider outpost nearby. The Deathclaw in Concord didn't know what hit it.

FO 4, my rifle specialized character. The first legendary I killed dropped a plasma infused hunting rifle and the second dropped an enraging pipe pistol. I already either had or could make a silencer for the pipe pistol (rifle) and nearly every fight in the game went thusly; sneak and snipe the biggest guy with the pipe rifle, he kills and or weakens the rest, and the hunting rifle will take out whatever's left over. Usually pipe weapons become useless quickly, not so with that enraging pistol.

A few days ago I started a Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke run with a few friends. The catch is that every Pokemon is randomized, including the starters.

For once RNGesus blessed me and let me start with a freakin' Gible, aka a pseudo-legendary.

But then the game proceeded to throw a ton of fully evolved Dragon Pokemon and even a lot of Ice shit at me and that Gible died a level-and-a-half before it could evolve. Much salt was spent that day.

I too started a randomized platinum nuzlocke. But I also choose to randomize the abilities of the 'mons.
What do I get to start with?
Skill link Slaking.
Currently hoping for bone rush, arm thrust or rock blast tm.

Otherwise... EU4 as Austria. Getting like... three or four PUs pretty early. Securing an alliance with France and getting in position to destroy the Ottoman Empire before they westernized... That was a pretty good start :D

Restarting my adventure in Borderlands 2 for the PS4, I made a Gunzerker. The first kill of Wilhelm netted me a Logan's Action gun and going up the path to the BNK-3R, I open a chest to find a slag E-Tech Topneaa weapon. Finally, the BNK-3R drops a Sham shield with a 91% absorption rate. At level 33, my Gunzerker was ready to be the best Boomzerker he could be. Almost launching infinite amounts of Topneaa rounds inside the next boss chamber, I breezed right through the main quest line right up to the Warrior.

Now, trying to replicate that at max level...and it's rather a *****, to say the least.

The D'Shar are my favourites, you monster :( I hope you get ambushed by 5 Scorpion Assassins.

OT: I recently played through Dark Souls for the first time and was lucky enough to get a Black Knight shield off the first one in the game. I ended up using that shield throughout the entire game.
