Usually, I wouldn't say anything, but a thread about this was made just yesterday. Anyways, the music in Resident Evil Remake is my all time favorite. Follow the link and you'll see why. The Oblivion soundtrack amazed me, as well. Both added fantastic atmosphere.

I'm a huge fan of Jeremy Soule's work on the Total Annihilation soundtrack. Some pretty epic stuff there.

That said, a lot of the music I listen to isn't the game music itself. Nox Arcana, Two Steps From Hell, Immediate Music and various oher artists see plenty of time in my playlists while I'm gaming.

Pokemon Black and White, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Final Fantasy VI, The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker, Dark Cloud 2, Ys VI and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep.

All have outstanding soundtracks.

Pretty much anything from Silent Hill 2. I didn't even play it, but the music in that is divine.

Also, the epic Modern Warfare 2 soundtrack. Any epic Halo soundtrack. Gears Of War themes. Battlefield themes.

Man, do modern military shooters produce a LOT of great stuff.

Depends on what you mean. My favourite soundtracks to listen to are the Final Fantasy ones, specifically 8&9, but the best soundtracks are the ones you don't really notice, except in truly epic moments, but add to the atmosphere overall. Halo 3 really did this well, and the Metal gear Solid games also have really good soundtracks, but most of the tracks on both, are not ones you'd listen to for pleasure.
Assassin's Creed 2 also has a pretty good one, but brotherhood has a really irritating operatic voice in it that is utterly terrible.

I'm a firm believer that JRPGs generally have the better soundtracks on games, some tracks are just memorable as hell to those who've played them

Think the Portal credit song be a bit too obvious?

Oh, and Borderland's intro. Because nothing says dystopian planet than slide-guitars.

Oh boy, this thread was sorely needed. A search for "soundtrack" only shows about 20 previous threads with the exact same purpose.
