Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, WarioWare, Mario Party and Perfect Dark have all been my go-to party games at various times in my life. I also have discovered the joys of Guitar Hero just today, so add that to the list.

L4D is awesome with all the lights turned off, and there's always this guy who's like "OH CRAP A WITCH" and startles it. Heh.

Donkey Conga 1&2 on GC, karaoke Revolution series on any platform, RE4 Speed runs with some close friends on any platform. The list is endless for the open minded gamer.

I would have to say Mario Party(It doesn't matter which one) or Rock Band.

Mario Party/Tennis/Carts/Football, Super Smash Bros original/Melee/Brawl, Wii Sports, Guitar Hero/Rock Band and Worms 2. I'de pick those, well not Guitar Hero or Rock Band since I suck with music games, but it's still a good party game. Especially Worms 2, Super Smash and Mario Party gave me some hilarious moments at party's.

Most arcade games are usually pretty good for parties.

DDR is fun sober or drunk.

Burnout Paradise party mode is awesome.

Beatmania is fun in parties but only for the same reason Rez is - its a solo game, but the music is awesome and people end up dancing.
