I recently replayed Fallout 3 and rembered how good Liam Neeson was as a voice actor, and after playing Fable 3 with again, some rather good voice acting from the likes of Stephen Fry and John Cleese I realised that this was a area that has really improved in games compared to the past (ok you can argue ever game is better is most ways to the past, but this is a area were the past could have had a chance, unlike say graphics, but is definatly better without much argument, unlike say gameplay which you could debate.)

Who is your favorite voice actor in a game?

That game had Malcolm McDowell in it and you remember Liam Neeson? Well I'm certainly surprised.

The only person I ever felt gave a great performance as a major caracter was David Hayter in the MGS games.

Varric and Isabella in DA2.
Varric because, well, Varric, and Isabella because she was the thief from Trine as well. God I love Trine.

I also like the cockney boss and Gat in Saints Row 2.

Kris Kristofferson gave one of the finest voice acting performances in a video game I've ever heard in New Vegas. William Sadler was pretty damn entertaining too.

I also loved Cat O'Conner as Kaelyn the Dove in Mask of the Betrayer. One of the few female characters in gaming who wasn't A) acerbic or B) perky or C) perkily acerbic.

Nathan Fillion - Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach - Because Firefly and Castle references while calling in airstrikes on Elite and Brute squads is awesome.

Michael Ironside - Splinter Cell - Sam Fisher wouldn't sound badass otherwise.

On a honorable mention note, Halo 2 had David Cross, who we may remember as the actor/psychologist in Arrested Development and a damn funny stand-up comedian.

I'm going with Jennifer Hale's work as FemShep as BEST.

But John Cleese in Fable 3 as my favorite.

I'm a huge fan of Kevin Michael Richardson's performances as well as Charlie Adler's. They just add that spark to their character that I instantly recognize.

Edit: Also, how could I forget Tony Jay.

I like Nolan North, especially as Uncharted's Nathan Drake.
Yes, he's usually the same character over and over, but it's a believable character that I've learnt to love.

Also, he's Deadpool. I don't have it in me to hate Deadpool.

I really like Keith David as Captain Anderson from Mass Effect 1 & 2, and as Julius from Saint's Row 1 & 2.

Also, Brandon Keener's voice for Garrus Vakarian from the Mass Effect games is perfect.

I agree. I like North's work even if it is similar across the board (he seems to be big in to platforming adventure games methinks: Prince of Persia, Uncharted series, Assassin's Creed series).

However, I'd also have to go with Keith David and Michael Ironside.

Simon Templeman is my favourite hes voiced:
Kain from the Legacy of Kain series (The voicework from everyone in that series is AMAZING)
Loghain from Dragon Age Origins
One of the Quarian Admirals from ME2

He has one of the best voices ever, I would have sex with it (although I'm sure that Mr Templeman would object).

Seth Green as Jeff 'Joker' Moreau in the Mass Effect games. Especially when paired with Tricia Helfer as EDI.

"Seems like Garrus has finally worked that stick out of his butt... but now he's trying to beat guys to death with it."

he's not a big name, nor particularly in a lot of games, but Stephen Russel sticks out in my mind as the voice of Garrett from Thief. Without his rough, whispery voice, Garrett would never have been quite as engaging. It adds alot of character without even seeing his face or expressions he's pulling. He may not be the best out there, but he certainly made a big impression on my gaming childhood.

I also hear he might be in the new Bioshock Infinite. Good to know he's still getting work

Crispin Freeman as Baldur in Too Human. He was literally the only reason I played that game.

Nathan Fillion. you might remember him as the actor who played Nathan Fillion in everything he's ever been in.
