So, I fancy myself a bit of a Western film fan, and I wanted to know if other Escapist members are like me in that regard.

So, simple question, What is your favourite Western film?

I love the Leone ones, my favourite of the bunch being "For a Few Dollars More", although a majority of people would probably say "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly".

The bank? What about them?

...oh, western films. Huh. I haven't watched very many, but I'll go with "A Fistful of Dollars." Mostly since it's based on Yojimbo.

Frankly, I hate Weston's with all the hatred I can muster. Having said that I don't mind "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" that was a good film - I just pretend its not a Weston.

My favourite is "For a Few Dollars More" too! Awesome. If the climax was as good as the one in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" it would have been perfect.

I haven't got round to watching most of the ones I own. Blazing Saddles is great though.

It's a Western. Honest.

Seriously, how has nobody mentioned Once Upon a Time in the West? Spaghetti western classic! Film classic in general, actually. This film gave us Harmonica Man, one of the best themes in film history, and an absolutely brutal revenge story. I'm not a huge western fan in general, but this movie transcends the genre and is a classic in its own right.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Sorry to jump on the fucking bandwagon, but that was a great film, with the best soundtrack in film history.

I ahve to agree with high_castle. THe best western is 'Once upon a Time in the West'. I have heard that the three men harmonica kills at the beginning are supposed to be Blondie, Tucco? and the other from TGTB&TU, which would have made it even more awesome. TGTB&TU is easily number 2.

Once Upon a Time in the West
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Fistfull of Dollars
Unforgiven
Tombstone - If only for Val Kilmer. DAMN is he good as Holiday.
