I was just thinking this myself. Brad Pitt was absolutely hilarious, but as far as characters that really pulled me into the movie, Waltz took the cake.

Also, I enjoyed the entire cast of Zombieland. They played their characters well and seemed to have very natural chemistry.

Hans Landa was an awesome, and wonderful character and Christopher Waltz deserves something from it.

But who could be the worst... hm... I am going to nominate Hayden Christianson(or however you spell his name), I don't even know if he was in any movies this year but I hereby nominate him as worst actor ever!

I'm a massive movie fan and out of the films I've seen this year, here are the best performances:

- Ben Foster as Will Montgomery (The Messenger)
- Woody Harrelson as Tony Stone (The Messenger)
- Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa (Inglorious Basterds)
- Sharlto Copley as Wikus van de Merwe (District 9)
- George Clooney as Ryan Bingham (Up in the Air)

They were the roles that really shone to me. All of them outstanding. If I had to choose the best, I'd say Foster and Clooney were the best leading roles of the year, and Harrelson and Waltz were the best supporting actors.

It was a fantastic year for film though.

I agree with most other people here that the chap who played Hans Landa was awesome.

Ben Foster was great in 3:10 to Yuma (judging by your avatar, I'm sure you agree haha), so I'll have to watch The Messenger, from the trailer it looks like a bloody good film.

Best - Maybe Charlotte Gainsbourg in Antichrist. Possibly I'm only saying that because I love the movie, but she plays her role incredibly convincingly given all the states of mind she has to go through.

I don't know about worst. I don't really agree with Megan Fox. She's not a good actress by any stretch of the imagination, but being over-hyped because she's hot doesn't mean she immediately becomes the worst thing to happen to visual media since...I don't know, maybe the Dead or Alive movie that I refused to see. In Jennifer's Body, she's actually not too bad; she gets given a role as intelligent and beautiful psycho-*****, and she does pretty well with it.

Hans Landa was just so fucking menacing and frightening and in 4 languages.

And Shia LaBitch needs to grow some fucking balls, then get punched in them
