So I think I shall just quote Notch's twitter straight up its much quicker.
"We won the interim injunction! We can keep using the name "Scrolls". ZeniMax/Bethesda can still appeal the ruling, but I'm very happy. :D" - Via. Notch's Twitter
So there you have it, Bethesda lost the case.

Thank God! I was hoping that for once the team with common sense on their side would prevail, especially against an evil multinational corporation.

Putting my hyperbole and irrationality aside, this is good news :)

Heh, just came to post this :)

It's good news, although I'm sure that ZeniMax will be taking the appeal route.

Oh lol.

Well it's about Bethesda protecting their partial title anyway. TO show they will sue anyone coming near their name x3

Good job, now I add a new game to my list of most bland names ever! Scrolls... hum more or less boring then the name rage... can't decide.

I may not remember this correctly, but apparently Bethesda didn't want to do this whole court-case. It was just the convoluted way the copyright laws are written which forced them to.

Great!
I was so anxious about that court case, I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, couldn't breathe.
I've been partially dead for the last few weeks, all because of this court case!
Now I can get back to being an internet lawyer and over-analyze everything I see on the internets because I feel entitled to do it.

Sarcasm aside, neato.

That was always going to happen. Even in the US you'd never find a judge silly enough to rule a single word that common to be trademark material.
thats funny because Apple Corp got $80,000 from Apple Computer over a single word.
then they won again because an Apple II had a single playable sound file.

OT: honestly? first i thought Bethesda were being dicks. then i read Apple v Apple and thought they were right. so i stopped caring.

Surprised? no. Disappointed? no. Will it keep Bethesda's actual IP safe? who knows.

Honestly, I think this whole thing was a waste of time. Neither party was blameless, and the whole thing could have been smoothed out if either one had been willing to approach an agreement like adults.

I'm just glad Mojang didn't have their asses handed to them, I'm keen to see what they make in the future.
