Ok guys, time for some liquid based fun!
[sub]...that sounds wrong...[/sub]

What would you say is your national beverage? The drink the majority of people within your country love. Whether it be beer (something specific please), coffee, Coca Cola etc.

I'm British, so I would disappoint all our American friends if I failed to say...

And yes, the biscuit is mandatory.

Other black beers? Whiskey?
Yeah, but Guinness is fucking delicious. I can drink that stuff all day, and unlike most other alcholic drinks, a Guinness needs to be poured properly or it tastes like shit.

Doesn't get any more American than Coca Cola! (Yes, Pepsi has a red, white and blue logo, but Coke tastes better.)

Agreed. Pepsi tastes too sweet to me and isn't nearly as refreshing as Coke.

Do you mean `stouts'?

...and i suppose a Welsh drink would be medd (mead). Not that I've ever actually ever drunk any.

Nothing beats a cup of the Yorkshire Brew on a rainy day.

If we go more alcohol based. Ale, cider, stout and meed have been mainstays of British inns for time immemorial. Rum is also pretty high for its association with the navy.

The Manhattan Special soft drink. Only in America will someone decide to turn pure espresso into a carbonated soda.

Brit here, and I'm going to buck the trend and say lager, seeing as that's what most people drink these days in the place of better alcoholic drinks :(

Hmmmm... I guess so. I haven't lived in Ireland for ages (about 8 years) so I don't really drink much Irish stuff. I'm sure some Irish-dwellers will point out something better.

National Beverage of the USA? Coffee is by far the most popular drink in the States...

Oddly enough, Mead is originally from China. Boggled my mind the first time I learned that.

You may be referring to Braggot, though. It's a Welsh mead.

I'm British (English) and feel kind of ashamed that my first thought for a national beverage was Ginger Beer before tea or lager hit me.
God almighty what is wrong with me? I am a deviant and must be culled :(

According to one of my friends and my grandfather, Guinness actually tastes so much better within Ireland, simply because it's fresher and has no need to be pasteurised. My grandad doesn't usually drink the stuff but he couldn't leave it alone while he was in Dublin.
