I don't understand that most guys play assault but dont play medic... and in most maps medics seem to have little to no impact to non-infantry only games

It's like i join a game, everybody is in a vehicle or tank, but if im in an infantry only its all revive revive revive heal heal heal for me... but for the other 3 assault classes beside me its like if i die, they're all screwed

with that said i'm looking for people to teamwork with if your interested msg me and we'll have a few games

i like playing as medic, if i choose the "assault" class i play as medic, if i want to fight i will be engineer. just come off a metro conquest map, 0 kills, 12 deaths top of leader board with 1200+ points lol

I play as assault, personally I preferred the bad company 2 classes, but I use my defibrillator when I can.

well afaik there is nothing that can replace the defibb in the assault class except the medic bag for a grenade launcher or something which is also lame as hell.

Honestly? Because the impact the medic has in Battlefield 3 has been toned down dramatically from the previous games. Health now regens to full on its own, making health packs a luxury rather than a necessity. And the lower health totals in general mean that making that daredevil run from cover to rez your squad is pretty much suicide.

Also, in vehicle heavy maps where infantry's impact is reduced compared to vehicles, a medic is somewhat dead weight. It would be more useful to have another Engineer, if just to have one more rocket launcher trained on the enemy tanks.

I thought the classes in BC2 where much better balanced. Giving the Assault class ammo actually made sense, as using the rifles meant you'd be burning through your ammo supply pretty quickly. LMGs and Snipers rarely ever went dry, and the SMG wasn't the main focus of the Engineer in the first place. Likewise, giving the LMG the health packs meant that the guy who was likely to be hanging back and providing support actually had additional incentive to hang back and fortify areas.

I only go medic in the Rush missions where tickets are scarce. You can get a lot of points reviving people especially if everyone is pinned down in an area.

I really hated how the assault has to sacrifice his medpack for a noob tube.

In BC2, I'd always run full medic spec with underslung smoke grenades, but if I have to sacrifice my medic pack in BF3 for smoke, then I'm not going to pick it.

I'd be tempted to use the underslung grenade launcher if it simply took up two slots for your gun loadout.

I don't know about you guys, but I hardly even see people playing medic. Everyone plays engineer, support, sniper in that order. Its frustrating when I revive 15 people in one life then never get revived myself. =\

It makes sense that there's so many engineers. They're the only class that can take town tanks at range, and all their weapons are really strong. The fact that the Scar-H does over 30 damage a shot is just silly.

Well since i like to be the helpful one in the group i play medic, generally topping the scoreboards with between 4-8k points on the PC depending on how much noobtubing is going on...

other than that i feel as if i am actually a burden in anything other than infantry only...

Actually, whenever I played Medic on BC2 I was pushing the frontlines forward, constantly ressing teammates and keeping their health up. They were vital to keep the push going.

Hell no?! Being a medic is one of the most useful things to do in BF3. I ALWAYS run as a medic and I'm topping the scoreboards nearly every game, with between 3,000 and 8,000 points. I revive anyone I can and I always drop health packs down for my team.

Reviving an Engineer to take down a take quicker is incredibly useful, reviving a support class as soon as they go down is important - it allows them to continue holding a certain lane of fire. Snipers...well, I don't tend to help snipers. On maps like metro, I nearly always get 30+ kills and over 10/15 revives. It might be because I play with a team more, so I have a more focused mindset on helping people so we win...Even on vehicle heavy maps, running a medic is useful - now instead of waiting for that engineer to respawn, I can now get him up and he can continue taking down that tank.

I think people under-estimate the power a medic has on the battlefield, simply because they're more interested in just using the Assault rifles.
