Ever have one of those moments when you think you got the story line down and then they take a U turn and your like, DAMN! Here are some of my best story plot twists.

Knight of the old republic: When you find out your darth reven and you are actully malaks master.

Hitman bloodmoney: When diana sticks the sringe in your neck and betrays you.

Bioshock: Would you kindly mindcontrol.

As I said in another one of these,
{When Almualim turns on you in Assassin's Creed, and how it makes perfect sense that he does and I didn't see it coming at all.}

Really? I thought
it was meant to be incredibly obvious, to highlight how bad a position Altair's in, because you can tell that, at least from half-way through on, he damn well knows Al Mualim is evil, but still has to obey him.

Anyway, less of a twist, but
Fai Dan's suicide [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9Pr5imIG2Y] in Mass Effect really got to me, as did Nihlus' death. I guess because you see them seconds before, and then there's a discretion shot, which is strangely disturbing. Especially with Nihlus, because you see Saren aiming at him, then control switches back to you and you hear the gunshot in the distance.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
in gears 2 when

when you find doms wife and it starts out like she is ok but then shows she is really just a husk, Ive seen so many things that did the stupid happy ending that I fully expected gears 2 to do it also.

Most of the plot developments in Silent Hill 2 were a complete surprise.

Fuck, all of Silent Hill 2 is a complete surprise.

Anyway, mine is

In GTA IV when Dimitri is revealed to be working with Bulgarin, Michelle is really an undercover cop, that asshole drops the diamonds into the trash truck.

Well, to go really old skool...

Final Fantasy 7

When Aeris dies. Yeah, you've probably played the game, and guessed what I was going to say before you read it. But still. That shocked and surprised the heck outta me. I was totally blown away, and to this day remains the only in-game cinematic to make me cry. That and shout "Use a phoenix down already!"

Somehow I knew you were gonna say that :).

Anyway...

Would you Kindly?
How?! Can you read my mind?! I mean, I never talk about Mass Effect! Next thing you know, you'll be guessing that I bring up Splinter Cell!

Actually...
That mexican standoff [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDrKaB3aIqI&feature=related] between Shetland and Fisher was pretty cool, made even cooler by the fact that it comes at the end of what might be the toughest level in the entire series (seriously, I have no idea how the guy in the video managed to 100 % it), although the abattoir from the first game comes close. Also, it's somewhat cooler and more fitting if you don't shoot him; at the end, when the guy in the video shot him in the face, he could have chosen to put his gun down, after which Shetland would have pulled out another gun, and Fisher would have pulled his knife, stabbed him, and threw him through the window.

The F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin ending
Alma literally rapes you while you're strapped to a chair and becomes pregnant. It was stupid and I could barely believe it happened.

We hear so many things, is there anyone else that thought of...?
The end of Crackdown, when you find out the Agency has been controlling everything from the start.

Well, I don't really play all that many games with story-lines. I mostly stick to games that force the player to make their own story, be it in the game, or in their imagination.

So, Deus Ex:
When your brother turns out to be NSF.

Yes, that's seriously all I got.

Or maybe in Deus Ex Invisible War:
When you find out that you are the "brother/sister" of JC and Paul Denton, even though I totally should have fucking caught that, because in the original game, there's a part of one level that has three stereotypical cloning tube-chamber thingies, two of which have "JC Denton" or "Paul Denton" on their little readouts and are empty, and the last of which still has a person in it, which reads "Alex Denton" on the readout, and your name in the second game is fucking "Alex D". Agh!
