Biggest regret, as a gamer?

I'm sure many of us gave away or sold an old console, only to longingly stare at our TV sets, our fingers tapping imaginary buttons, wishing we could hear Mario's "It's-a me, Mario!" one last time.

So, yes, my worse sin was letting my cousins take my Nintendo 64 away, games and all. Then they moved away, out of the country, leaving me here, sad and lonely.

WTG on the fast probation. For me its buying a wii. It just collects dust and the person I bought it for never plays it. I'd sell it if she'd let me.

Getting sucked into the UK CS:S scene. The game is more addictive than crack when you start playing it competitively :/

Buying Oblivion for the only system that will not let me buy the fucking DLC!!! Also I would have loved it even more for PC because then I could do modding and I want to so bad damn it... Besides that, most likely buying a Wii. I ended up giving it to my sister and her kids, I didn't ever touch the thing for the most part.

All the time I have spent on MMO's, I liked the games but got addicted so now I'm cold turkey.

Never getting to play a lot of the old survival-horror games. I have never played Silent Hill, Resident Evil, or Clocktower. I feel so empty inside.

Having a complete lull in my gaming life through high school to pursue something that I wouldn't achieve. I spent all of college playing catch-up.

Not buying the N64, PS2, Xbox/360 when they were released. I grew up with PC gaming, but I can't really afford the ~$1000 to get a new (and powerful) gaming rig right now. A console would certainly brighten up my day, but alas, I only have a netbook and an older laptop that can barely handle Fallout3.

Buying MW2, I mean it was fun but the online community just sucks so much. Nobody seems to care about the other, dual wielding shotguns (cool realism bro) and overpowered kill streak rewards just ruined it for me.

Getting to the last damn level in Whiplash (getting the trash card, literally one level from the last boss) and giving up. I sold it so fast, I hated it, I still do. I got frustrated and said that's it, I refuse to do this, it's too long, and I hate this game.

I never finished it...my ps2 sold long ago, the memory card wiped, and I can't see closure because no one on youtube uploaded a walkthrough.

I REGRET NOTHING!

Actually, one thing. I borrowed my brother's Pokémon Red (he got Red and Blue for his birthday, I had to wait 'til September to get one of my own), and began catching 'em all. I had 146, when my brother decided to hijack it back and erase my file. I should've hidden it, at least until I got all 150 (I was planning to get a Red version, then just trade him the blank one for the one with my file, but hadn't made the offer yet). Stupid.

No real regrets actually. I think every bad purchase I've made, I've learned from it. Also, every system I've sold, I don't really regret it. I do wish someone would hurry up and buy my Xbox 360 off me, though. It's collecting dust in my basement while waiting for replies on a selling-website.

A big regret for me is not something that I did, but rather something that my idiotic brother did. He sold his SNES. For $50. I would've taken it over and loved it in his stead... (sniff)

I also never got to finish Majora's Mask. I borrowed it from a friend, but I never got the chance to really play through it. I was too busy screwing around with the masks and the ocarina songs... What a stupid thing to do.

I regret not regretting playing some classics. OK j/k.
What I regret most is being stuck with a game long enough to not get wind of something new and great, much like being stuck playing Ragnarok Online and not give a try to WoW or any other game at all.
