Don't know if anyone's visited the Bioshock 2 website recently (http://somethinginthesea.com), but they've recently updated it with an expanded environment and new interactivity, including more mysterious correspondence, 'memos' and the topic of my question, a nifty little lunchbox puzzle that I can't seem to decode.

Has anyone else cracked the combo for this yet? By looking at the clues, I thought it was 'Xed out circle', 'inverted triangle' and 'percent symbol,' but it turns out I'm mistaken. Has anyone else had better luck? Feeling a little embarrassed and a bit thick, having to ask for help, but curiosity's gotten the better of me. Thanks in advance!

Wow thanks for telling me this dude, I hadn't realised they were even still using that site.

EDIT: Having a look in the bottom draw of the filing cabinet to the left of the desk now, X-rays showing the results of his (Mark G. Meltzer) fight with the big sister (As well as a doctors report releasing him dated 3/6/68) and a sketch of the Big Sister with annotations, pictures of his daughter with province on the back of each picture, court proceedings detailing a divorce from his wife (Amanda Kay Meltzer) that took place on June 9th 1960.

Also a letter to a guy named 'Rosooe' it details how he lost his daughter (?) to the big sister. And some miscellaneous post cards, one to his ex-wife, the other to 'Phil' something about books.

EDIT: Looking on at odd bits of paper laying about now. (1)Next to phone - Unsure, it appears to be about a child having 'hallucinations' about Rapture (Sharks in sky, angles and monsters ect.) Not sure who wrote it, seems to be a woman? (2)On floor in front of desk - Talks about 'lunch-box' (In front of filling cabinet) seems to of been sent to Meltzer somehow, his 'daughters work'? Pictures of Rapture, probably. (3)Next to 'lunch-box' papper in front of desk - Picture of rocks, hummm... Something inside the rocks, look closely. (4)First piece of paper the left - From Lynch (Guy who first started reporting the Sister in Ireland) 'Atlantis' lol. (5)Furthest on the left - 'Massive disappearance' I had wondered how Ryan had got all those people to Rapture without anyone noticing. (6)On right-hand side of table, nearest the door - The fuck? Some Rapture like city described in a pamphlet, replace Juicer with Splicer and you've got Bioshock. Sorta. (7)Left of '(6)' - Letter from 'Phil' of the 'National Unidentified Flying Objects society', neff said really. Though this 'Quain' may be Jack form the original Bioshock. (8)Left of '(7)' and '(6)' - The vanishing following WW2 hundreds of thousands of people simply vanished, many of these people were famous artistes or scientists, this explains how Ryan populated Rapture.

EDIT3: Memos - There is a rectangular piece of paper stuck to the side of the filling cabinet, there are 3 names written on it in the same scrawled handwriting as the other notes.
Those names are (1)Philip Isidure, call took place on 5/24

Happy to oblige - nice annotation of all the clickables, though you missed one: on the side of the filing cabinet is a 'memo'; phone messages for Mr. Meltzer from Phil, Roscoe and Benny Stango, apparently a detective investigating the disappearance of Meltzer's daughter. Compelling stuff!

There's symbols on one of the pieces of paper, the one on the floor about his daughters work... They might be something?...

The order for the lunchbox left to right is:
Upside down triangle, the double diamond, the oval with a single line bisecting it.(This symbol is three to the right of the double diamond, and next to an asterisk)

Anyone know what the hell the radio says sometimes?

Sounds like garbled talking. I was thinking someone might be able to make it out.

Within the lunch box is
A paper cut out of a little sister, a card with several symbols on it that are also on the lunchbox, a splicer mask and a drawing of the Big Sister holding a little sister's hand while taking a person's soul away.

I was too creeped out by the radio to listen to it.

Sounds like a woman singing to me. But I can also hear faint whispers here and there amidst the static. I couldn't tell what it says though.

Nevermind, I heard what you're talking about. I don't think it's in English. If it is, then it's something backwards. My money's on another language entirely.

Yeah but there where some other parts. One sound clip has someone talking in what sounds like a foreign language. The talking gets louder until it fades out into static.

Oh I was going to, but it was late and I got a bit tired so I thought I would have a go at the memos today.

FWIW, I think the answering machine message on the desk changes. When I first posted this topic, it was Benny who'd left the message. Today, it was Roscoe. Otherwise, I'm not sure if there's anything else new to report.

Though I will be checking in periodically to see if there are any new additions. Any word on a release date for Bioshock 2?

That site really creeps me out. I almost had to close it at one point when the audio fuzz in the background became some creepy mumbled-voice sort of thing. Scary.

The symbols! There are twenty six of them, I think the message in the lunch box written in the symbols is something important.
