After the release of the first gameplay videos for Bioshock 2 on Gametrailers personally I was elated, what are your views and thoughts on this return to rapture?

Hm, well at first i was skeptical. I mean, playing as a Big Daddy seems like the most brilliant gimmick ever. And it is. But atleast after watching the eleven minute interview with the devs on Gamespot, i must say, i have very high hopes for it.

The only problem i see with it is that the only weapons you get are the Rivet Gun and Drill (aside from your plasmids of course). Here's to hoping that the customization for those weapons keep everything from getting stale.

I do like the idea of being the prototype Big Daddy, and the concept of quicker, more agile Big Sisters is intriguing. I just hope they don't go the Madden direction of "same game different roster" and instead bring more to the table and make the game more than just a clone of the first Bioshock.

See, I hope that, but so far I haven't seen anything that suggests there are other weapons apart from the Rivet Gun and the Drill. Although I would assume that if the player is able to swap between those two weapons, they must also be able to use other guns.

Seriously, the only gun you get is the Rivet Gun that the BD's used in Bioshock 1. They say you will have a ton of customization options for it though.

It was said in one of the interviews, though i'm not sure which exactly. Go watch the one on Gamespot, or the preview on IGN. They definitely mention it.

Anyway, the deeper customization/upgrade paths for the plasmids and weapons (along with duel weilding) are my favorite things so far.

I don't want to sound like a douche here (and I know I will) but I moderate on 2K's offical forums.
I'm on their every day. They did not say that ever.
EDIT: I can't give you a direct quote, but they did say in an earlier interview/article that the drill and rivet gun will be "mainstays in your inventory", which heavily implies that there will be others.

I can't give you a direct quote but I can back up what the guy says. In that gaming magazines exclusive article it said that you would get better weapons then the first game because your weaponry will actually come from Rapture's armory and not the stuff you find lying around.

Well the only thing that happens in the underwater parts is just an adam slug scavenger hunt.
There really isn't any combat. Sort of like an underwater intermission.
I think it would be great to look at Rapture and all of its majesty from the outside. Temporarily forgetting all of its bloodshed and chaos of the inside.

I suppose you are right because he said:

"You do have the strength of a Big Daddy, so this lets you use the drill and the rivet gun."

I kinda interpreted that as those are the only weapons you can use. And how the hell does he hold a two handed weapon with a drill?

Anyways.....i guess i was wrong..*grumble*
