What if in the future a movie for Bioshock was gonna be made. Who would you want to direct it and who is starring in the cast?

Also, tell what the movie will be about and include details on Rapture.

BTW, has anyone noticed Jack is becoming a popular name in the videogaming industrie

Jack(Bioshock)
Jack Carver(Far Cry)
Jack Drisco(King Kong)
Jack Sparrow(Pirates of the Carribean)

Don't forget the best one.. a game called Red Ocean who's main protagonist was named Jack Hard. Came out Sept 2007.. it's an FPS.

As for a Bioshock movie.. I vote that one never gets made.

I probably wouldn't want it to be made into a movie...If it had to be done, I want it to be in computer animation, cause well, it would be better. Of course the visuals would have to better even better than Beowulf to be decent in that aspect, but there already is a closed story so that's the hard part.

I don't think it really needs to be made into a movie, I think a game was the perfect medium to present it in. You wouldn't really get the same kind of feel if you followed a linear path crammed into roughly two hours. Besides, there was no real dialogue to speak of in that game.

True, but I think if they made it in a compleately diffrent way like having a group of people survive. BTW in the trailer you can catch a glimps of what Jack looks like, whitch would aid in chossing the actor.

Also, don't forget Jack from Call of Cthulhu!

I've found that movies based on games are generally bad. They've never been as enjoyable as the actual games themselves, merely just something to watch if there is nothing else to do. I vote for them not making a movie of Bioshock, it's too good for it.

P.M.

I just want to see for a second if any of you fell for that fake trailer of Half Life on Youtube. I saw it was fake as soon as it said Black Mesa was located in Nevada!?

Also, they might be selling that gordon freeman suit they made.

Frankly, If you've played the bloody game, there's no reason to make it a movie. games these days are basicaly interactive movies anyways, with most having a better plot and characters than the crap hollywood puts out these days. Movie adaptations are for books, and even then, they get horribly screwed up (see: the golden compass). I've had a go at bioshock, and intend to get it for PC when I get a decent PC, or just sit down and play it on a friend's Xbox, and I dont hate it enough to want something like a movie done to it.

Movies are for older, classic games that could use story expansion (ie: resident Evil wasnt that bad, all things considered).

Resident Evil was probally the best movie from a game because they actually found a way to work stuff in from the games and make it compleately diffrent.

Games unless based on a xinematic theme don't translate well because game stories are intresting because on the player's involvement movies are without viewer involvement.

If the game is going to be made into a movie, it should involve people who have no (or very little) presence in the game. I think the city of Rapture has a tonne of stories to tell before the hero of Bioshock even gets there.

A main player who doesn't talk or have emotion is good for a game, but for a movie?
Think back to your bioshock days:
kill kill kill, run run run, sit listen, BIG DADDY! run, fight, bees, fire, turn look, walk over to little girl,'CENSORED'.

Well it worked for doom, oh right.

Gary Oldman as Andrew Ryan
Dakota Fanning as a Little Sister (although she may be getting a bit old)
Cate Blanchett as Tenenbaum

Other than that, I'm having trouble casting this movie off the top of my head.

I dont want a movie, i want a sequel describing the city from its opening day until New Years Eve 1959. Rapture is an awesome city, but the horror in it sort of detracts from the experience in my humble opinion.

George Clooney as Andrew Ryan, Matt Damon as Jack (wouldn't be the first time they were working together [Ocean's Eleven]), Dakota Fanning as the little girl(s?) and the Big Daddy's are all CG.
I could see it, although doing just as well as Speilberg's War of the Worlds.

Uwe Boll to direct.
One of the Baldwin brothers as jack. Probably Stephen.
Rob Reiner as Big Daddys
Ron Howard as Andrew Ryan
Michael Bay to executive produce.
