Hey guys, I'm just curious what you think about the Bioware Bazaar. It's an awesome concept because it gets them new fans and media coverage, but I really think they could done a better job. For instance, I'm not a big fan of the prize packs they have. It would be better for the fans if instead of packs with 5-8 items in them, they were individually bid on so more fans could get something.

Just curious what you guys think, or if you won anything. I still love Bioware anyway!

(p.s., ignore the first few posts, that was because of an exhibition of noob-ness on my part.)

Really? Sorry, I'm new to actually participating at The Escapist, before I just watched Zero Punctuation. If anyone knows for sure please let me know.

Wow, two posts and I've already had an epic fail. Probably should have read the rules, huh. Disregard this, please.

According to the things that incur Mod Wrath under the Posting Guidelines, I found this.

"Advertising: Our forums aren't the right outlet. Contact advertising@escapistmag.com if you would like to inquire about purchasing ad space. If you want to link to your blog, MySpace page or YouTube account, please do so in your profile, not in your posts."

Just so you know.

*Edit* You can just hit the edit button to change your above post. I'm sure we've all fallen foul of the Posting Guidelines once in a while. Don't be so hard on yourself, I'm sure you'll be a smashing member of the Escapist forums.

*says playfully* Oh in case no-one's told ya. Welcome to the Escapist, for the love of all things holy: NEVER go into the basement. :) (It's an in-joke we Escapists have.)

Now that we've had the topic change, what is the Bioware Bazaar exactly?

The Bioware Bazaar is a "giving back to the fans" auction. You get points for registering games (Mass Effect 1 and 2, Dragon Age and the expansion), and you earn more for completing contest on Twitter. These points are free and you use them to bid on auctions of Bioware merchandise. It's a really cool idea that allows them to give back to the fans. Some of the prizes are insane, including custom pc's.

Quick caveat, it's only available in America.

I live in Europe so I don't give a damn. I really hate them for that but I still voted for them for MM. Oh well, I guess they still produce good games.

With these free points, you bid on online auctions of Bioware stuff. It's a great concept, and there are some awesome prizes, such as custom-painted pc's.

Quick caveat, this is only availabe in America, and it ends Saturday.

If it's worth anything, they said the reason it's only available in America is because at the last moment they realized they screwed up and every country had different laws about contests like this so they couldn't make it international. They claim they'll have different contests like this for different regions.

The only problem with it is that people who don't have jobs or school have a major advantage.
