I just got BF3 for $29 while others are buying it for $60. It was a black friday deal thing or whatever. One problem: EA didn't include the online pass in "these" $29 games although their brand new; their NOT $60 fresh out of the box "EA wants money" BF3 copies. Lucky for me I don't mind taking it back to walmart for a full refund of my money x,x I wouldn't dare by an online pass. That's just nasty, but I understand why they did it. I'm not angry or bitter, I figured I'd share the news so others might not have to waste the gas on a trip to walmart.

It should include it. AFAIK, the $30 deal is only via Origin on the PC.

You got a console version from Wal-Mart, chances are you picked up a used copy?

How is that possible? It's brand new, I don't think Walmart sells used games do they? I'm going to exchange it and hopefully I will get EVERYTHING in the box that I paid money for. Usually I buy used from gamestop. I didn't know Walmart sold used games (for $60 a piece >_<)

Did you check whether the box specifies that it doesn't include it? I've seen things like that before.

That's... odd. Those copies could not possibly be labeled with "For black friday, excluded online pass" since it's the game you bought 100% legally with all means of official purchase. They -should- have it.

Oh wait... It's EA. I wonder if they really would be that evil? I hope not anyway :S

When did Wal-mart start selling used games? To my knowledge they don't. I suppose it is possible that there is a handful of store testing the concept, but even that is unlikely.

The deal didn't say anything like that O_O If that was the case I'll take my money and walk. (I didn't see anything on the box or in the manual when I checked for it. That would be under handed big time. I bought it solely to co-op and play with my friend who loves it. While not a raging fan of it myself, It was cheap and I don't have any FPS games since I purged my collection out of rage. For $29 I would get MW3 too >_< FOR $29 any $60 game would be nice.

Go back to the store, as customer you have the right for the full product. Because do note that EA is not selling you the product. WallMart is. EA sold their product to WallMart and they sell it on (in the general producer -> middleman -> Retailer -> Customer economical scheme). They supply you with an incomplete product.

I don't blame EA all that much, they were plesant and fast over the net in chat and gave me answers (Call walmart) and now I'll exchanged and have some good fun soon o.o

And that's what's it about right? Having fun with games (people forget that so often.)

^This. And I'm not quite sure why you're "afraid" of buying an online pass. I'm not for them, don't get me wrong, but I don't see where you're coming from with the "that's just nasty".

Still, the point is, AFAIK the $30 deal is only via Origin and as a result, only for the PC - which doesn't require an online pass since you can't sell it used as easily.

If the other stores are price matching, who knows what's in them - or not. A quick look on wal-mart.com shows BF3, all versions, is still $60. So I have no idea what sort of deal you picked up.

It's very easy to forget that in the huge November rush of games.

At least everything seems to have worked out in the end.
