Bollywood Action Movies! Need Help!

Ok so, I'm going to be running a Scion game soon with a couple friends, and one of them sent me a text, with the idea of playing a Scion of the Indian pantheon, who is a Bollywood action star. And I am SO down for this level of crazy/silly, you don't even know. The problem is, I've never watched a Bollywood movie, as I find the genre to be not my taste, especially the musical dance number bits and stuff.

But, over the top action that is so ludicrous that it loops back around to awesome?! THAT I am down for.

So, what would be some good Bollywood movies to watch to get the creative juices flowing for this guy? Specifically stuff on netflix instant view, so I can head over there and we can watch one just to get in the mood?

Anyone got some ideas on good ones? Preferably high action, and, on a personal note, low on obligatory dance numbers xD

How about "Robot" (aka "Endhiran" / "Enthiran")?


It starts off kind of slow (the action starts about an hour and fifteen minutes in), but we're talking about a robot that falls in love with his creator's girlfriend, kidnaps her, then activates a bunch of duplicates of itself and uses those duplicates to form a giant snake with gun fangs. It's completely over the top yet has loads of charm.

You might want to take a look at Ambala. No no, you'll have to take a look at Ambala. Lord if I don't love action movies that have only a passing relationship with physics.

Also, if you want something more fantasy action, and a lot more crazy (and I think Tamil instead of Bollywood but whatever), Baahubali might be dope. It's all ancient mythology and shit, might be double useful for your Scion character.

Don't expect to find them on Netflix though, but they're easy enough to find through...other channels.

I just glanced at Ambala, and I think Singham was more over the top silly, but that one was still enjoyable. We were watching it, and the elements they assigned to Singham, made us feel that he was actually supposed to be an incarnation of Vishnu, given the imagery and stuff they used.

It definitely inspired me as the ST for some stuff. I'm going to have his Legend trigger random flash mobs as he is dramatically walking towards a badguy or something, and I'm probably going to give him some NPC assistants using the rules, that, while they do fight, also REALLY love musical numbers, and sing a theme song for him when they go into battle with him at their head. xD

Damn I really hope he actually goes through with this character.

Anywho, yeah if you want to do the whole gods thing Baahubali is definitely a movie to check out.
