I am looking for some new boots, but I am so confused about what to buy. I feel like I hate most boots out there, they just seem so ugly to me.

So to maybe give me some ideas I would like to know what everyone on the Escapists boot of choice is!? Share your thoughts, opinions, pictures and stories about BOOTS.

I'm a huge fan of cowboy boots.
I don't own any any more, my auntie gave me a pair because when she was pregnant, her feet swelled right up and wouldn't fit in her boots.
They were black and silver, a bit of a heel so they hurt after a while, but so gorgeous.
I'd like a pair of red and black ones.

The shoes you see Noel Fielding in, basically. I love his shoes.

Depends if you're in Canada like me better to just go with practicality. It just snowed like hell in the GTA and you know what's really not attractive? Missing toes, although I find those Australian boot thingies look warm and nice for girls, they're really not bad to look at IMO. They do actually look pretty hot, but whatever they actually keep your feet warm I have no clue.

I have a pair of "Texas Steer" boots, but their work boots. Don't exactly look the best but they are very comfortable.

I have these Australian ones that I love. Slip on and your done. They are very durable and comfortable because they have a sneaker sole so you get the support and protecion of a boot with the comfort and ease of a sneaker. Warning, stepping on fire will melt the soul.

Ahh boots, how I love them. My feet are a little bit awkward though so it's hard for me to find ones that fit and are comfortable, durable and look good at the same time. I have these though from Clarks in England,

http://www.clarks.co.uk/p/20340917

Gods they are so nice! So very comfy and go with everything I wear. I can walk in them all day. My next pair of boots shall be these beautiful boots:

I tend to favour shorter boots, I just think they look better than knee high boots sometimes. I may have to research more and try on more knee high boots and see how I feel, it's probably just because I haven't found the right pair yet!

The term "boot" is quite encompassing. You might want to specify what you're looking for in a pair of boots.
Do you want form or function? Warm or cold weather? Dry or wet?

Anyway, for everyday use, I'd pick my pair of combat boots. Baked under the sun, submerged underwater, caked in mud, they've been through hell and back over the last 8 years. The best pair of boots you've ever bought me, Thanks.

I find it hilarious how we just had that little back and forth in the "cheaters" topic and we both live in the GTA. Crazy coincidence! I am pretty happy about the first day of snow, it is pretty!

I usually go for high, brown boots. For example:

Although, I have to admit, I do have a soft spot for the right kind of Docs.

I'm not a huge fan of black boots.

Yes it is. I actually hate the heat, I like this time of year because it's cold but not stupid cold. + My birthday is around this time which is a bonus, or just another year towards your ultimate end depending on how you look at it..... sigh my looks won't last forever, what I'd give to have no finite age like a crocodile or lobster.

FYI Yes I know profile picture doesn't look that great, I'm drunk in it, I don't usually look that scruffy.....

Currently I've only got a pair of black Dr. Martens because I am a butch lesbian they're super comfy and generally awesome. I need to get some steel capped boots for my course when I'm on sites though, my old pair of hiking boots haven't fitted me for ages.

I also don't like the heat, it is like I am in a constant hot flash. The summer can be pretty harsh on me. I also like those UGGS/Australian sheep skin boots. I'm afraid they might be TOO warm though.

I look at birthdays as a depressing day that I would rather not celebrate. Being a year older doesn't seem like a reason for me to be happy. I would do anything for immortality.

I think you look fine in your pic, being drunk is a favorite past time of mine. Don't put yourself down! Also to answer your college/uni question, I actually went to bartending school in downtown Toronto after highschool. Other than that, I never did any other schooling as I was never great in school, I almost went to Humber though. Where did you go?

There will only ever be one pair of boots for me.

Motherfucking winter dunlops. Not summer; the summer variant can't stand up to shit. The winter ones? Comfortable as hell, not too hot (you want 'em slightly too big for your feet so you can fit in a pair of bama socks to deal with sweat) in the summer, not too heavy, and durable. They've been through two seasons of MEC-warranty-voiding hell and they'll probably be good to go a lot longer than I will.

If you ever have the great misfortune of working a spring or summer as a tree planter, they're a glorious investment.

Of course, you'd be better served by never, ever becoming a god damn tree planter, but still.

EDIT: Kind of expensive, though. I got mine on sale for about $120, which is apparently a pretty decent price for them.

I must say, you got me looking at around the clarks selection and I am finding some boots I actually really like. I love the brown ankle highs with zippers at the side! We have similar taste. I also prefer shorter over knee high.

I already own a pair of clarks shoes and really love them, so maybe I'll give these Clarks boots a try. I was actually going to get an UGG, but I wasn't really sure. Thats why I started this topic to get some ideas, thanks! :)

Luckily I live in the city and only really ever walk off road if I am at the barn or taking a lovely stroll in a park. So I am looking for more stylish and sleek boots. I don't deny the use of those boots though, I actually have a pair of rubber boots, although they are cheap wal-mart shit. I used them on Hallows eve to rummage around a pumpkin patch in the mud with kids.

I can see how you would need a good pair for day to day use like a tree planter. I have heard tree planting is super hard work, but I would totally do it, it seems rewarding doing something for nature. Getting paid doesn't hurt neither.

I have two different pairs of boots in my possession. Both of which reach up to my calves.

One is a pair brown slip ons (leather I think) that I got for free. The other is a pair of black zip up Arestodels (sp?) I got for about $10 brand new from a second hand place. Both are a little big for my feet, and it hurts to wear them for an extended period of time (even with shoe inserts).

Figures, since I got them for cosplays that I wore for two days.
