Kind of - the Boxee guys were kind enough to create the actual app, I just provided them with a customized set of feeds, a tweaked version of our video player, and some art.
We had way too much tech stuff going on behind the scenes to be able to build an entire app in time for their presentation.

Pretty much true, because we're a website. When a decision between spending time doing work on our sites or working on something else comes up, we almost always take improving the site as our top option.
This worked out a little different because they offered to build the app for us, so the amount of work for our own team was much lower than learning to build a single-platform app from scratch. Instead we just needed to spend a little time doing something we already know how to do well - XML feeds and dynamically generated pages.
